The latest fiscal report from Take-Two reveals that Borderlands has now sold over two million copies.
“Borderlands from 2K Games has now sold over 2 million units worldwide and has established itself as a key franchise for Take-Two, for which the Company has long-term publishing rights.” said the report.
Borderlands, which was released in October, has gone down well with gamers and critics alike, scoring well in reviews. The first batch of DLC, ‘Zombie Island of Dr. Ned‘ has already been released, and the next instalment ‘Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot’ is due to arrive at the end of the month for the Xbox 360, 7 January for the PS3. The PC version will follow some time afterwards.
Developer Gearox has already stated that a sequel for Borderlands is a “no brainer”, and shortly afterwards a trademark request by Gearbox for the title “Borderworlds” was spotted.
