So, you’ve drained the blood fountain with blood steal and can’t progress, eh?  Getting stuck in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, what would your third-grade teacher Mrs. Perrywinkle say? You’re probably wondering where you get the ability that lets you walk underwater but, you actually don’t even need that yet. The solution to this is dead simple, but it can be tricky if you don’t stumble upon the solution.

In the Forbidden Underground Waterway, you’ll come across a jellyfish enemy that swims in the water. It’s easy enough to not fight these things, but you actually need to. Deeper in, you’ll come to a bridge that has three of the buggers nearby. What you need is their shard. Kill them until they drop it and you’ll be rewarded with the aqua stream.

The aqua stream is a pretty standard ranged magic attack with one major difference – it allows you to propel yourself while underwater. With this, you can progress through the rest of this area. Just watch out for the spikes, they can be quite treacherous.
