Blizard have revealed their release date for Diablo III, by accident.
There has been a bug on the official Diablo III site for a few weeks where articles that were not approved would show up on the site. This morning an article appeared temprorarily which revealed a release date for the action RPG.
Blizzard had stated they were looking to get the game out the door this year but in this latest update it revealed they will be looking to ship the game in early 2012.
So no Diablo III this year but hopefully we’ll see the game some time in January.
Update:
Blizzard has now released the offical news on their site and Mike Morhaime CEO added:
“While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too. However, this week we pulled together people from all of the teams involved with the game to decide whether we felt it would be ready before the end of December, and we grudgingly came to the conclusion that it would not. Ultimately, we feel that to deliver an awesome Diablo sequel that lives up to our expectations and yours as well, we should take a little more time and add further polish to a few different elements of the game.”
