Getting free stuff is usually either a scam, a very rare occurrence, or a scam. In the case of gaming, it is usually an exploit, and Blizzard has shut down trading in Diablo 4 after discovering a duplication glitch.
After duplication glitch trends, Blizzard disables trading in Diablo 4
As of October 21, 2023, Blizzard has disabled trading in order to counter a duplication glitch that exploited said mechanic. In the case of Diablo 4, the duplication glitch was not something new for the game, since duping has been attempted and successfully performed in the past. Blizzard has stated that it will look into the duplication exploit and will do their best to fix it promptly to reintroduce the trading mechanic back in the game. They also have made the decision to act according to their End User License Agreement regarding accounts that have engaged in gold and item duplication.
Duplication glitches and their following exploitations have been a thing since the dawn of the new century. Duping could feel very rewarding, after all, you are just getting free stuff by exploiting certain unpolished in-game mechanics. However, it also brings a lot of negative buzz. Eventually, online game capabilities allowed developers to patch errors and, of course, to ban players who have been playing the game inappropriately. So, if you are eager for another to appear in Diablo 4, we would recommend you refrain from doing so. Keep in mind: Diablo 4 is a game that punishes cheating in a really direct and severe way.

There is no ETA on when trading will reappear in the game. For the time being, beware of engaging in risky and fraudulent behavior. Just continue to play the game just the way the developers intended to. That is unless you want to wear your ban as an accomplishment. In that case, have a ball.
