With lots of rumours surrounding Blizzard’s unannounced MMO (which may or may not be a sci-fi FPS MMO) and unannounced new IP, it’s nice to finally get a conclusive confirmation that the new IP is not part of any previous game world they have created.

While we have known the MMO and new IP are not the same since last year, there has been a lot of speculation if it could be a revival of StarCraft: Ghost or some other creative way of displaying one of the famous worlds of Blizzard.

So we asked Pearce, “would it be part of the previous worlds?”

“Well, if it’s a new Intellectual Property,” he said, “then that for us means new in the terms of outside the scope of existing franchises, yeah.”

When asked if he had more information on that, the answer was pretty given: “No. No more. Nope! No, not even a little bit.”

As well as our full StarCraft II Single Player Preview, we will shortly release the full interview with Frank, so stay tuned!
