There are plenty of resources to collect throughout your time with Black Myth Wukong, and they’re limited to stop you from getting your hands on the most powerful weapons and armor too quickly. However, once you’re at the stage where you can start crafting the better gear in Black Myth Wukong, you’ll want to find materials like the Refined Iron Sand as often as possible. Where to find Refined Iron Sand in Black Myth Wukong

There is no chance you’re going to find any Refined Iron Sand in Black Myth Wukong before you reach at least the final boss battle in chapter 2. However, you should receive your first piece once you have beaten Black Loong. From here, it is just a case of searching for enemies and chests around the various areas you explore.

Plenty of the chests will have this rare resource in them, so make sure you search everything. As the game progresses, there will be more drops and chests with the Refined Iron Sand in Black Myth Wukong. The resource is essentially level-gated to stop you from building gear that would cheese the game.

Guaranteed locations for Refined Iron Sand

There are a few spots where you can definitely find Refined Iron Sand in Black Myth Wukong.

• Shrine Store – Once you reach Chapter 3, you will find this resource periodically in the store. It can be purchased for 1,200 will. Grab it whenever you see it. It is a limited resource.
• Chests – Around the map, once you pass the end of Chapter 2, you will more often find the resource in chests on the ground. There has been much more luck finding it in the ground chests rather than ones on ledges and tables.
• Bosses – Many bosses around Black Myth Wukong will often drop Refined Iron sand, so make sure you seek them all out. This is probably one of the best ways to acquire the resource.
• Progress—This resource is designed to be drip-fed to maintain the pace of the game. The best way to start finding a lot of Refined Iron Sand is to simply progress. As I pushed through the chapters, I found myself getting more and more of it.

Uses for Refined Iron Sand

This resource is used exclusively for upgrading and crafting new staffs in Black Myth Wukong. From the Rat Sage Staff onward, you will need at least a little bit of it to craft and upgrade your staff to the next available one.
