Guangmou is the fourth Yaoguai Chief you run into during chapter 1 of Black Myth Wukong. Once you reach the Snake Trail incense shrine in the Bamboo Grove, continue forward until you reach a large open area with lots of alive and undead snakes. At the back of this area, there’s an area between two rocks to walk through with two fires in front of it. This is the boss arena for Guangmou.

After his introduction dialogue, you’ll be immediately thrown into the fight and he will start casting magic abilities. The first one is a handful of spirit balls that track to you and do damage. He will perform this attack while teleporting to you and attempting to attack you and spit acid in your face.

Most of Guangmou’s attacks ask you to pressure the boss by dodging into him and dealing damage. When it comes to the acid attack, just make sure you dodge to the left or right of him, as he won’t move directions once he’s started spitting. He may also choose to jump backward and throw a line of fans in midair that deals damage to you if hit. As with most other moves, dodge inward and you shouldn’t have a problem.

He performs an AoE attack, where he will either conjure a magic circle under you or himself, depending on where you are relative to the boss. If he casts the circle under you, you’ll want to dodge into the boss and start dealing damage. Alternatively, you’ll want to dodge backward if he conjures the AoE under himself, but you can usually go straight back into doing damage after this attack.

The real cheese of this fight comes when he tries to summon his serpent minions during the fight. Normally, he will call upon snakes that pop up from the ground and spit acid at you for some time while he continues to attack. This can be frustrating, and will eventually end up poisoning you if you’re not careful.

However, if you’ve been upgrading your skills, you shouldn’t even have to deal with this attack. When the boss starts to cast this attack, he always starts the voice line with “Boys…” As he’s performing this move, cast your Immobilize ability and start wailing on him while he’s frozen. Performing this action will cancel his casting ability. Once he’s staggered out of Immobilize, he’ll move on to the next move completely skipping the pesky snakes.

With the right equipment, you should be able to kill him before he attempts to bring the snakes out again. Should it come up and you don’t have Immobilize, keep running around the arena dodging the projectiles until the snakes disappear.
