Irrational Games has finally revealed “Project Icarus” to be Bioshock: Infinite, with a trailer now viewable at the teaser site.
It seems Irrational is expanding the Bioshock universe to encompass airships and a society in the clouds. This, of course, fits with the “Icarus” codename – referring to the Ancient Greek myth in which Daedalus’ son Icarus flies too close to the sun with his crafted wings and falls to earth.
That city in the sky is called Columbia, and players take on the role of “Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt” who is seeking to rescue a lady by the name of Elizabeth. “DeWitt must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities,” especially as the city is falling to the ground.
