With the launch of COD Warzone Mobile, players now have two Call of Duty mobile games to choose from alongside COD Mobile. As they’re both free games, what are the differences between them?
Game modes in COD Mobile and Warzone
When comparing any two games, the most important deciding factor is generally the content that each game, in this case COD Mobile and COD Warzone Mobile, provides.
As may be expected, COD Warzone Mobile does what it says on the tin. It only has two game modes: Warzone and Plunder. This is pitiful, compared to COD Mobile, which boasts Team Deathmatch, Domination, Frontline, Sniper Only, Gun Game, Search and Destroy, Hardpoint, and even has its own Battle Royale.
The range of games that COD Mobile hosts will make it suitable for a much wider array of gamers and will cater to different moods. I know I’m not always up for Warzone, and would prefer a quick Team Deathmatch to confirm I’m still not that good at online shooters.
However, that doesn’t mean that COD Warzone Mobile is at a disadvantage. Warzone has become so popular, that many players are attracted to it who may not particularly care for the standard online shooter experience. Warzone itself offers many twists and features that other battle royales don’t, so even though it only has two game modes, that will be enough for most.
Performance in COD Mobile and Warzone
Currently, COD Warzone Mobile does not have great performance. The graphical settings are locked for players, which is problematic. Players will either be left with awful graphics, or graphics so good that it’s cooking their devices. I don’t typically care about bad graphics in video games, but this was something else.
COD Mobile, having been around for much longer, doesn’t suffer this issue. Settings are optimizable to guarantee a great performance.
Eventually, COD Warzone Mobile will catch up, but for now, the performance of COD Mobile is superior to a huge extent.
Cross progression in COD Mobile and Warzone
One thing that COD Warzone Mobile does have over COD Mobile, however, is cross-saving. You can link your Warzone account to the mobile platform of the game, allowing you to progress on your main account anywhere from your phone.
This is a huge bonus for players, as the thought of starting a whole new account simply to play away from the console wasn’t a great thought. I don’t even play COD on the PC, and I don’t like the sound of my progress not being cross saved if I were to delve too deeply into COD Mobile.
COD Mobile tracks its progress separately from the console and PC counterparts and has its own identity. COD Warzone Mobile was made with its current players in mind.
Note that you can link your COD Mobile and COD Warzone Mobile accounts for exclusive rewards, so it may be worth just installing them both. If you do decide to jump into COD Warzone Mobile, then I wish you the best of luck. Just be careful for any errors, as it is a new title.
