Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season Two has introduced some more content for you to enjoy. If you are a fan of zombies, they’re live (so to speak) in Warzone as well as in the new Outbreak mode. The later of which is an open-world co-op game type which provides players with a unique zombies experience. So much so, that when you are playing Outbreak, it can feel like a different game entirely. Due to the huge scale and open-world feel to the zombies Outbreak mode, you may have to switch up what weapons you use. Upgrading your weapons is also paramount, as the waves of zombies become more difficult to kill.
Since launch, players have immersed themselves in the new mode, completing the various objectives. Included is surviving in holdouts, eliminating threatening boss zombies and more. By completing these objectives, you will earn a huge amount of experience points. At the same time, there are three types of Aetherium Crystals available, allowing you to upgrade your skills to the new tier levels.
Get your hands on a Wonder Weapon in Outbreak
Firstly, Wonder Weapons are extremely powerful when playing any zombies map and mode. Outbreak currently has three Wonder Weapons, the DIE Shockwave from the map Die Maschine, the RAI K-84 from the Firebase Z map, and the Ray Gun. As these weapons are highly fought over, there is no easy way of attaining them. You can find a Wonder Weapon as ground loot when you kill a Megaton, or earn one through trial rewards. You may also want to try your luck and attempt to pull one out of a Mystery Box. Wonder weapons can be game changing, especially as the difficulty increases as you progress through Outbreak.
Naturally, you have options outside of the overpowers super weapons. The M16 tactical rifle, for example, is a strong contender in Outbreak. It can take on gunfights at long range, especially when using a scope. Also, if you find yourself navigating around the various buildings in Outbreak, the M16 is also able to shred through the undead with its strong hip fire. Once you have accumulated enough points, you’ll be able to upgrade your M16 at a Pack-A-Punch Machine. This will turn your M16 into a gun that is able to destroy multiple zombies in just a few bursts.
You can always trust the Stoner 63
Light machine guns are a good choice across all three Black Ops Cold War zombies maps and modes. In particular, the Stoner 63 is a smart pick due to its high firepower and low recoil. The large ammunition supply will allow you to take down hoards of zombies in just one clip. Once you have managed to fully upgrade your Stoner 63, it can prove to be one of the most powerful weapons in Outbreak.
Finally, if you have used the Krig 6 in Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, you will know how strong the weapon is. In Outbreak, it’s no different, and it can provide you with an incredible amount of accuracy. As you upgrade the Krig 6, you will instantly notice an increase in the damage dealt, allowing you to shred through zombies with ease.
Try these weapons out for yourself today and see how well you’re able to mow down shuffling zombies. For more guides, check out our Guides and Features hub.
