Soon after starting Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll notice that exploring the world at nighttime is ten times more dangerous than during the day. This guide explains the best ways to prepare for nighttime in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to prepare for the night in Dragon’s Dogma 2
If you don’t prepare before venturing out of a town or city to complete a quest, you will likely find yourself dead due to the dangers that lurk at night. Quest markers are usually very far away from each other, and since there’s limited fast travel, you are bound to reach nighttime eventually. Here is how you can prepare.
Stock up on healing items/food
This is a no-brainer, but it is essential to mention. I’ve noticed that the enemies that come out at night are much stronger than the ones during the day, so you’ll need healing items to accommodate the challenge. You can get healing items from vendors found in cities or through the crafting system in the inventory menu. Either way, make sure you have as many as possible.
Double-check your pawns
Before heading out into the unknown, it’s wise to check if you have the best pawns available at a Riftstone. There have been plenty of times when I thought I had a good party (pawns) until I double-checked a Riftstone and found a pawn that had a better specialization or higher level. It’s always wise to double-check if there are better pawn options since this can significantly increase your chances of surviving the night.
Upgrade your gear
Since you’ll be collecting so many materials on your adventures, you’re bound to have the option to purchase better gear or upgrade your current gear to a higher level. You should constantly check to see if this is an option.
You want to have the best armor you can at the moment. Head to an armorer, scroll through its inventory and look for blue numbers (higher stats). Don’t just shop for yourself, though; make sure your main pawn has the best gear available as well. It’s brutal out there at night, so you want to be adequately prepared with top-notch gear.
Make sure you have a Camping Kit
I can’t stress enough how important it is for you to have at least one camping kit in your inventory before heading out on a quest in the open world. You will likely reach a point where you are low on health, pawns are dead, and it is pitch black out. A camping kit can help you escape this situation, preventing you from dying and losing progress. You can purchase Camping Kits at curative stores.
Just a heads up, you can’t use a camping kit anywhere you please. It has to be at a campsite, and finding one at night can be tricky. I recommend finding a campsite during the day and marking it on your map. This way, you can refer back to the marker if you find yourself in a sticky situation at night.
These are the best ways to prepare for nighttime in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Follow these tips to a tea, and you will find yourself making it through long adventures in the open world and becoming a master Arisen. I also recommend unlocking the Advanced Vocations, which are stronger against enemies.
