Best ways to heal in Enshrouded

Here's how to patch yourself up in Enshrouded.

There’s a lot of combat in Enshrouded, especially in the foggy Shroud that covers most of the map. Since you’ll be taking a lot of damage, it’s a good idea to know which healing items are the best to bring with you on your journey.

Healing works differently in Enshrouded versus other survival games, however, so you might need to change your strategy and bring a different set of items with you for harder battles. You won’t be able to just spam healing items and instantly max out your health bar, so you’ll need to put some thought into it.

How to Heal in Enshrouded

The best items to heal in Enshrouded are Berries and Bandages. Purple Berries are super common in the early stages of the game and you’ll find a ton of them growing on bushes as you explore the starting areas of the game. They give you +2 Health Regeneration for 30 seconds. This is a slow healing effect, but they’re easy to find so you really can’t complain.

Enshrouded Food Effects

Not all food items will heal you in Enshrouded. Instead, consumables activate food effects that give you buffs over time. Drinking water, for example, gives you a boost to Endurance and your Stamina Recharge rate. You can have three food effects active at once as long as you eat different food types. You can’t have two meat buffs active at the same time, for example. Some food items will give you a Health Regeneration effect, but not all of them.

Bandages can be applied independently of food buffs, but they’re harder to come by since you need to craft them using Cloth and String. The same healing rules apply to them though, so you can only use one at a time and they will recover your HP over time. Using a Bandage will give you the Bandaged buff for 10 seconds, healing you much faster than Berries would.

How to Increase Max HP in Enshrouded

Your health bar will start out small in Enshrouded, but you’ll be able to increase your maximum health and boost your other stats as you progress through the game. Earning skill points is the primary way to increase your stats in Enshrouded. Basically everything in the game will give you XP, so just keep exploring and you’re bound to earn a bunch of skill points.

Enshrouded Skill Tree Constitution

Once you have some skill points, invest in the red skill nodes for the Warrior, Tank, and Barbarian classes in the bottom left of the skill tree. There are several Constitution nodes that will increase your Constitution attribute by one point after unlocking them. Every point you add to Constitution will increase your maximum health by 50.

As you progress through Enshrouded, you’ll find more potent healing recipes but the same general rules will still apply. Healing takes time, so make sure you plan accordingly during combat. You should consider crafting the best early-game gear so you won’t take as much damage during fights and you can venture into the more dangerous parts of the world safely.
