Best ways to get Gold in Palworld

Which get-rich-quick scheme tickles your fancy?

Getting Gold in Palworld is a rather simple process, and there are a few avenues you can take when wanting to make a quick buck. Follow one or all of these methods, and you’ll be rich in no time.

Note that I have ranked these methods from best to worst.

Precious Pelt Selling in Palworld

In Palworld, you can sell almost anything to a Wandering Merchant, and you’ll get some sort of money off it. You can resort to selling surplus resources or old crafted goods to make a small fortune. The problem is that you need to keep building up surpluses or keep crafting equipment to keep making money, which isn’t always viable.

Precious Pelts in Palworld are in the game purely for selling, as their description reads. These pelts are only gained for killing Field Bosses, and you’ll get at least a few every time. Each Precious Pelt nets you 500 Gold, which means that if you go on a Field Boss killing or capturing spree, you can gain thousands of Gold.

If you want to be proactive about your money-making, this would be the way to go about it. Whenever the bosses refresh, grab your Pals and go to town defeating all of the bosses you can handle. After a good run, you should be sitting on a sizable sum, and all you’ll have to do is cash it in.

The more powerful you become, and the more you explore, the more bosses you can quickly fast-travel to and defeat. As you become stronger, this exercise will become easier, quicker, and much, much more rewarding.

Farming Gold in Palworld

If you’d rather the passive process, then you can actually sit back, relax, and watch the Gold roll in all by itself. Well, almost.

The Pal Mau, when assigned to a Ranch, will dig up bags of Gold every so often. Pure Gold. This means that, if you give them a short while, you’ll be sitting on hundreds of Gold by the time you come back. Each Ranch has a maximum number of five Pals, so you could fill a Ranch with Maus and watch the money seriously roll in.

Maus are found underground in the Caves, so you’ll need to keep spelunking until you come across them. Make sure to bring Giga Spheres with you to catch them. They can also be hatched from Dark Eggs.

It would be worth you doing this regardless, as it’s a passive and incredibly cheap way to make money from doing literally nothing.

Idly farming Raids in Palworld

Human enemy NPCs in Palworld drop a lot of Gold, and you’ll be facing a lot of them when they decide to pull off a Raid.

These Raids, depending on your level, are incredibly destructive. Or at least, they are if you’re unprepared. If you want to focus purely on idly farming Raids for their resources and Gold, then follow these steps:

  • Place all of the Pals assigned to your base back into the Pal Box, preferably in a blank Box for easy access when you’re done.
  • Place your team and your strongest Pals into the base to defend against the Raids.
  • Prop up some defenses if the Raids have been rather challenging.
  • Place yourself in a secure room in the center of your base. Make sure that you’re well-defended and not in a wooden structure in case you get targeted and struck by Tocotocos or flamethrowers.

Once this is done, simply leave the game running. Raids will keep popping up, but your Pals should keep defending. Ensure that you keep checking back on your Pals in case they’re starting to become incapacitated. The last thing you need is overwhelmed and defeated Pals when another Raid strikes.

When you’re done, or when your Pals can’t handle another Raid, you should see your base littered with loads of Pal resources, ammunition, and most importantly, Gold.

If you wanted to, you could even sell all the other spoils of the Raid to earn even more Gold.

This may not be the greatest method, but it is idle and will secure you with lots of Gold and other resources, not to mention more Pal levels.

Selling unwanted Pals in Palworld

There is a much less ethical way to make money in Palworld rather quickly. The Black Marketeer is an NPC in Palworld who deals in Pals (or captured humans). You can buy from him to access Pals you haven’t come across yet, or you can sell your own Pals to him.

He is located where the star is on the map below, Southeast of the Penking Field Boss.

I would generally advise against the sale of Pals, as you can make more use of spare Pals by using the Pal Essence Condenser to make one of them much stronger. However, in the case of Pals such as Lamball or Cattiva, where you won’t be interested in a super strong one, I can see how making lots of money off them is more desirable.

When selling to the Black Marketeer, you can access your Boxes, so you don’t need to bring the Pals in your team to sell them. Sell all of the useless and low-power Pals for a great cash injection.

It is worth noting that Pals will be more valuable if they’re at a higher level.

The problem with this strategy is that it relies on catching more Pals you have zero use for to keep selling them, but if you have many spare Pal Spheres lying around, why not catch them? If not just for the Gold, then for the EXP bonus of catching the first ten of any species.

Now that you’re familiar with the best ways to make Gold in Palworld, why don’t you find out what happens when you’re Wanted?
