There are lots of avenues to collect Essence in Nightingale, so I’ll be going over the most profitable and you can decide which you can be bothered to do the most. It’s also worth mentioning that I’m talking about regular Essence Dust here, not T1 or further Essences. This is because you’ll always be needing Essence Dust to repair things and purchase items from a lot of Essence Traders.

Gathering things quickly for Essence extraction in Nightingale

If I need to quickly repair or buy something in Nightingale, this is the method I use the most. Anything in your inventory can be extracted to make Essence. After learning this, I thought of the one thing that I have in abundance around me: plants, sticks, and stones.

With your Sickle equipped, I’d recommend you to quickly run around, attacking any foliage that you see. Also, make sure to pick up all Sticks and Stones that cross your path. After scavenging around and collecting as much stuff as you can, you’re free to go into your inventory to extract all of the Fibre, Sticks, and Stones you’ve collected.

You should see that you have a sudden and large lump sum of the stuff to use for trading and repairing.

Crafting things quickly for Essence extraction in Nightingale

You can also craft goods in Nightingale to extract for more Essence Dust than raw materials. The best goods to craft are ones that require simple ingredients and provide a lot of quantity, such as Straps, that provide double the Essence of the item needed to craft them, and you get two.

Also, any crafted good is worth much more than its raw materials. If you have the time and resources, crafting cheap tools and gear will allow you to sell for a much higher Essence count.

I must say that this method will net you a large amount of Essence Dust, but it takes much more time than simply foraging around and extracting what you can find.

Challenge rewards in Nightingale

Also – this is mostly a reminder – but Challenges in the Guidebook menu provide you with rewards for completing them. Most of them award a very generous amount of Essence Dust for simple tasks. you’ve probably completed some without knowing.

Make sure to claim these rewards so you’re not missing out.

Encounters in Nightingale

Also, remember that any Encounter in Nightingale will award you with Essence. As you traverse into more Realms, the more challenging and rewarding these Encounters get. Such Realms will also award better quality Essences.

It’ll be worth keeping a lookout for Encounters in any Realm you enter. These Encounters are simple enough and are always fun. It would be worth fully exploring your Abeyance Realm to make sure you’ve rinsed it dry of all Encounter Essence you can.

These are only one-time rewards, however, they’re rewarding enough to minimize grinding in the ways above.
