If you want to be the best and come out on top in Fortnite, gearing up well and fast is always the play. Thankfully, you can do this early on, but like any other battle royale, other players will have the same idea.
However, there are many spots to land and kit up, particularly Hot Spots. Read on to learn the best ways to find better loot in the Hot Spots in Fortnite.Â
Fortnite: Best ways to find better loot in Hot Spots
I am sucker POIs in Fortnite. When my team and I land or are still on the bus, we ping one and head right for it. It helps us quickly search for loot and fight when we have gear. Hot Spots are POIs but with even better gear. So if you find one, I suggest you spend a lot of time navigating it — just make sure to keep your eyes open for other players.
Note, that there are only a select few of these Hot Spots per match, and do change every time. Whenever you go into a new match, look for the POIs that have their names written with gold. The image below is an example of what they’ll look it. The locations will likely be different for you.
As soon as you land, look up for any flying drones. They will usually have rare or higher-tier loot. The best part is that they move around, so you don’t need to land in a specific area. On top of that, downing a few drones might give you something like the rare Enforcer AR. So it’s always a good idea to take out as many drones as you can.
Why would I want to go for a Hot Spot first?
In Fortnite, you have one life, so you need to manage your health on top of your other resources. From experience, I can almost always find a health item when I land on any Hot Spot and kill a drone or search the area. On top of that, you can fill up those slots very quickly with proper equipment to take with you.
Going for Hot Spots first is a great strategy, because you get all the looting out of the way at the start, anything you pick up afterward becomes secondary. This way of playing allows one to fight more and search less, which can make the match go by faster.
Since there are many POIs in Fortnite, all with different amounts of loot, use this guide as you play.
Fortnite is free to play via Epic Games, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile.
