How to craft a truck in LEGO Fortnite

There are two ways to make a truck in LEGO Fortnite: use the Hauler rebuild or make a custom. I recommend making the Hauler first because it’ll help you learn how to make a good truck in LEGO Fortnite.

The Hauler is a great truck in LEGO Fortnite. If you aren’t into building custom designs, the Hauler gives you everything you need. If you are into building custom designs, building the Hauler gives you a basic understanding of how the vehicle pieces work together and what a functional vehicle looks like. Before trying to master trucks, you might want to learn how to make a custom car.

Since it’s still early, there aren’t many truck designs online yet. Because of that, I decided to make my own truck — well, it’s not a truck as much as it is a bus. My idea was to create a school bus, but it evolved into something else. I call my creation the Caterpillar and hopefully it’ll help you learn how to make your own custom truck.

For starters, you need to use a Car Jack. Car Jacks are great for building custom trucks because it gives you space to build and you don’t have to build on uneven ground.

Next, lay down your truck’s floor with whatever tile you want. I went with a long, thin design but a proper truck would have a bed in the back. With the floor down, add your Driver’s Seat. I like the large one for trucks, but any Driver’s Seat works.

With the Driver’s Seat added, put some windows or walls on the sides. Since I wanted a school bus, I put windows on both sides. Then, add Suspension at the front and back. My truck is named the Caterpillar because it has way more wheels than necessary, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Add the wheels next. Your two Steering Wheels go in the front and the Powered Wheels go in the back. I recommend using the Snap Mode function to make placing them easier. Also, use a Wrench to ensure they’re rotating the right way.

With the wheels done, you need to add an Engine Bay which houses your Power Cell. Your truck won’t run without this and I learned that this might not be the best component to add last because it’s hard to squeeze in.

Add extra seats, bumpers, lights, and any other trimmings you want to finalize your truck. When it’s ready interact with the Car Jack or break it to bring it down. Your truck is ready to roll!
