What is the best sword in Pixel Piece? Explained

The best swords and weapons in Pixel Piece are the Dark Blade and Cutlass Charlie. Each sword and weapon comes with a few moves, but to make the most of the katanas, you need to learn 1 Sword Style.

However, since Pixel Piece‘s re-release, Dark Blade and Cutlass Charlie are unobtainable. Though they still exist in the game, the only way to get them in the past was to place in the top three in the Pixel Piece PvP leaderboards. For now, the A-tier swords and weapons are technically the S-tier weapons since Dark Blade and Cutlass Charlie are unobtainable.

S-tier swords in Pixel Piece

  • Dark Blade
  • Cutlass Charlie

Dark Blade is easily the best sword and weapon in Pixel Piece since it has insanely high damage and amazing moves. However, since it is unobtainable, it’s not technically the best weapon in the game since you can’t get it.

The same goes for Cutlass Charlie. While it has less base damage than other weapons, its moves make up for it. You can’t get Cutlass Charlie or Dark Blade, so the new S-tier is technically A-tier, the new A-tier is technically B-tier, and so on.

A-tier swords in Pixel Piece

  • (Red/Green/Blue) Beast Katana
  • Kiribachi
  • Shark Katana
  • Nuro Claws

The best obtainable weapon in Pixel Piece is the Red, Blue, or Green Beast Katana. The color of the Beast Katana is purely aesthetic, but Blue is the easiest to get since it requires the least amount of Sea Beast teeth. While Beast Katana doesn’t come with moves, when paired with 1 Sword Style, this is easily the best weapon in the game.

Kiribachi is the next best sword in Pixel Piece because it has high base damage. Like Beast Katana, Kiribachi’s full potential is only unlocked when you get 1 Sword Style, but even as a base sword, Kiribachi is strong. It comes down to RNG if you get one or not, which is always a bummer, but if you can get your hands on a Kiribachi, you’ll be one of the most powerful players in the game.

Shark Katana is easily the best starter weapon in Pixel Piece because you can buy it at Shark Park for not too much Beli or find one dropped from an Arling Bandit. This weapon has very high base damage for how accessible it is and, like the other katanas, needs 1 Sword Style to truly shine.

Lastly, Nuro Claws is a very powerful weapon that belongs in A-tier. Though it can be hard to find one since they only drop from Nuro Pirates in Syrup Village, the Nuro Claws have amazing moves which make it strong even without 1 Sword Style.

Note: You can only use 1 Sword Style with katanas in Pixel Piece.

B-tier swords in Pixel Piece

  • Axe Hand
  • Cutlass Kaba

Axe Hand is the first weapon in B-tier because it doesn’t deal that much damage and is just as hard to get as Cutlass Kaba. However, Axe Hand has better moves than Cutlass Kaba which make it better. Smasher Axe and Spin Axe are both great moves for dealing quick AoE damage.

The second weapon in B-tier is Cutlass Kaba because it can be hard to find since you need to grind Kabaji at Orange Town to get one. However, once you do have Cutlass Kaba, you get Dash Slice which allows you to rush forward and deal damage. Overall, Cutlass Kaba is a solid beginner sword but not worth grinding for — I recommend grinding for Kiribachi instead.

C-tier swords in Pixel Piece

  • Katana

Katana is a completely skippable weapon in Pixel Piece. Since it doesn’t have any special moves and doesn’t deal amazing damage, I highly recommend avoiding Katana and going straight for Shark Katana. Katana is only 100 Beli less than Shark Katana and both are purchasable on different islands.

D-tier swords in Pixel Piece

  • Classic Katana
  • Classic Cutlass

The two swords in D-tier, Classic Katana and Classic Cutlass, shouldn’t even be used. Save your money and start grinding for a fruit or different weapon since both of these weapons aren’t good at all.

What is the best starter weapon in Pixel Piece?

If you’re tired of fighting enemies in Pixel Piece with your bare hands, the best starter weapon to get is the Shark Katana. This weapon is relatively easy to get once you get to Shark Park and deals the most damage at the beginning of the game.

You can choose to upgrade it by getting 1 Sword Style or start grinding toward a better weapon. Or, you can ditch both and figure out how to get fruits in Pixel Piece.
