Best strategies for Buckshot Roulette

May the odds ever be in your favour.

Playing a game that has a 50-50 chance of success can be anxiety-inducing. Things can get out of hand when your life is on the line (not literally). Buckshot Roulette is evidence of that. You are going up against an AI who is determined to kill you. However, if you use these strategies in Buckshot Roulette, getting the 70K achievement might be easier.

Buckshot Roulette: Best strategies to use

While the chance of landing on a live shell is random, using these tips can pull odds in your favor. I’ve spent enough time figuring out how to best the AI on the other side of the table. Sharing these tips would be criminal because getting out alive should be a known fact.

Pay attention to the shells

At the start of a new turn, you see how many live and empty shells are being loaded into the shotgun. Pay attention to the pattern of their placement. More often than not, I’ve counted the shells that are in the gun which has helped me predict which one was live and which wasn’t. Now, as the number of shells increases, the harder it can be to predict the next shot. So this tip should be best used for the first few rounds to give you a head start.

Use certain items

At the start of the second round, the game changes with the introduction of items. From the several rounds I’ve played, there are a few that are helpful. Items such as Beer, Cigarettes, Magnifying Glass, and the Handcuffs are the standouts.

In the later stages of the round with more shells, drink the Beer to remove one shot. If you have more than one Beer, I’d recommend taking at least another one so the chances of getting a live round go down.

Staying alive is your goal, and, ironically, Cigarettes help with that. Each time you take one, you regain one life bar. However, if you’re already at full health, this won’t work. Only use them when your health is below half.

The Magnifying Glass is important and my favorite item to use. The more you have at your disposal, the better. They let you see the next round in the chamber. If it’s an empty shell or a live one, you can strategize your next shot. I often pair the Magnifying Glass with the Handcuffs because I can repeat this step until I don’t have either item anymore. This item feels like you’re cheating, but you need to do whatever it takes to win.

Lastly, you want to keep the gun out of the AI’s hands as long as possible. The Handcuffs force them to skip a turn. When you do this, you can use another other item or shoot either one of you. Even if you get a live round, it won’t matter as much since you can go again, and this time try using another item to help you.

When you win your first game in Buckshot Rouellete, you can use those pills on the table. Find out here if you want to know what they do.
