Lords of the Fallen, as a Soulslike, has an array of different builds for you to experiment with. Certain classes, however, are more partial to certain builds as they each have different starting stats. This could determine your playthrough, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve picked the best one for your build, or at least the one you like the best. Here is the best starting build for the Dark Crusader in Lords of the Fallen.
What to expect from the Dark Crusader in Lords of the Fallen
The Dark Crusader is a class either purchased or earned, and so it is much more powerful than any of the other classes starting out. With a weapon that deals huge damage to armor that makes you practically invulnerable in the early game.
With a large emphasis on endurance and vitality as the highest starting stats, it is clear that the Dark Crusader is designed to be a tanky build indeed. Considering that the starting weapon, Paladin Isaac’s Sword, scales with strength and agility, there is a pretty clear direction there, too. So, you can expect your playthrough to be a melee-oriented one, as you are able to weather attacks and soak — and deal — a lot of damage.

Best starting weapons and armor for the Dark Crusader in Lords of the Fallen
When you reach Skyrest Bridge in Lords of the Fallen, you will have access to a couple of vendors who will sell you weapons and armor. For any other build, this is a great opportunity to upgrade your gear and play with new, shiny toys.
However, your starting sword and armor are superior to anything for sale here. By the time you get your hands on superior gear, you’ll be past the ‘starting’ point of the game. That being said, if you’ve opted for the Radiance Paladin build, you may be interested in what Exacter Dunmire is selling.
You will want to buy all of the Radiant spells he has selling, as they’re all pretty good for the early game. Especially the Radiant Weapon spell, as that imbues your weapon with holy damage. And with your class, you’ll be swinging that sword around a lot. It costs 1,000 Vigor, which really isn’t that bad.
I hope either of these builds helps you on your journey, lampbearer, and that you’ll crush the vile forces of darkness. For more Lords of the Fallen help, visit PC Invasion.
