Star Wars Outlaws PC specs

The first thing you need to confirm before we get into the best settings is to ensure that your PC meets the recommended (or higher) PC specs. Be warned that my PC meets the PC specs for Star Wars Outlaws almost exactly and I experienced many unsolvable performance issues. In fact, I swapped to console early in my playthrough because the graphics and bugs were too unmanageable.

Forget about the minimum and recommended PC specs — I recommend getting the game on console if your PC isn’t close to the enthusiast or ultra marks. While Massive Entertainment will undoubtedly continue to roll out patches to make Star Wars Outlaws better, I’ve heard from multiple accounts that it is buggier and harder to get good performance out of on PC. Here are the minimum, recommended, enthusiast, and ultra PC specs for Star Wars Outlaws:

Best performance settings for Star Wars Outlaws on PC

As you can see in the PC specs, the most frames you can get even if you meet the Ultra PC specs is 60 FPS. In every case, to get a smoother experience and a higher quantity of frames per second if you aren’t hitting a consistent 60 FPS, you need to sacrifice quality.

Before hopping into my recommended graphics settings, here are some things you can try to fix stuttering, frame drops, and other performance issues you may be experiencing in Star Wars Outlaws. You may need to tweak some settings to make the game less blurry and/or fuzzy, too.

  • See if your PC’s graphics card can be updated – If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, use GeForce Now to see if an update is available. This will help you get better performance and visuals.
  • Frame rate limiter – On. Change the Target Framerate to 30. See if your stuttering stops. Experiment with increasing the framerate by 10 to see what your PC can handle. This was the cure to make my game run well.
  • Quality – Experiment with different quality presets to see how they affect the overall performance. The key here is to get the highest quality you can while also getting good performance.
  • Upscaler type – My coworker who has an NVIDIA graphics card found success in setting the upscaler type to AMD FSR 3. Try experimenting here for better performance.

Now, let’s get into the graphics settings I recommend to get the best fidelity and performance out of Star Wars Outlaws. Keep in mind that all of this depends on where you land on the PC specs chart, so this isn’t a one size fits all.

  • Video
    • Vertical Sync – Off. If you’re experiencing screen tearing, try Quarter-Rate. If that doesn’t fix it, turn it all the way to On.
    • Cinematics framerate – Locked. If you want more FPS during cinematics, select Unlocked. I recommend keeping it at Locked to prioritize performance.
    • Upscaler type – NVIDIA DLSS (AMD FSR 3 or Intel XeSS if you have an AMD or Intel graphics card).
    • Frame Generation – On. If you experience choppier gameplay and lower quality visuals, select Off.
    • Ray Reconstruction – On.
    • Upscaler Mode – Fixed. If you have a 4K monitor, use Biased.
    • Upscaler Quality – Performance.
  • Graphics
    • Quality – High. This will preset based on your PC specs. If you’re experiencing low frame rates or stuttering, experiment with lower qualities. Also, you can mess with the Advanced Graphics settings to specify the quality you want for each visual element.
    • Film Grain – Off. All games look better with Film Grain off.
    • NVIDIA RTX Direct Lighting – High (if you have it). If you’re experiencing poor performance, try lowering this.

Hopefully, this Star Wars Outlaws best PC settings guide helped you out. Now you can thoroughly enjoy your time in a galaxy far, far away! And, if you’re on a console, here is whether you should go with performance or quality.
