As a reminder, while farming for Runes, it’s best to increase your Rune acquisition with items such as the Golden Scarab Talisman (Rune acquisition +20%) or the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot (+30% Runes for three minutes). This way, you can get the most bang for your buck. Here are the best spots to farm Runes in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. Also, make sure to get all the Scadutree Fragments as those are your main way of being prepared for bosses.

The Sunken Chapel

The number one rune-farming spot that has been discovered in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has to be the Sunken Chapel. Once you discover this Site of Grace at Shadow Keep, head to the church just nearby it and you should be able to find a ton of glowing-red creatures stumbling around.

This area will supply you with an infinite amount of weak creatures that provide you with around 1,800-2,000 Runes each. Just make sure not to defeat the red mage in the same area providing you with this farming method, killing the mage will stop them from spawning infinitely.

The cool thing about this method is that these creatures will also explode themselves, making it easy for you to take a swing and then wait for them to explode, killing other nearby creatures in the process. You should be able to collect a plethora of Runes in no time.

Shadow Keep Storehouse

Another good spot that I found while doing some research was in the same general area in Shadow Keep, but this time by the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace. You’ll find a ton of ghostly enemies and Vulgar Militiamen hanging around.

While the spirits drop around 1,500 Runes each, the tiny Vulgar Militiamen will grant you nearly 3,000 Runes each, granting you a good chunk of Runes without having to put in much effort. You can then teleport back to the Site of Grace to grab even more Runes from these weaker enemies.

Rauh Ancient Ruins

One other great Rune farming spot discovered in this Reddit post takes place near the Rauh Ancient Ruins, East Site of Grace. Following the tutorial video in the post, you can earn around 50,000 Runes per minute.

This method involves you teleporting to this Site of Grace to reset the people spawning on the large bridge. Then you wait for the Furance Golem to appear and release an attack on the bridge people while hiding behind a pillar for safety. It will instantly decimate the majority of enemies on the bridge, granting you a slew of Runes to collect.

That’s it for now, those are all the best Rune farming locations in the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Speaking of locations, we also know about all Sealed Spiritspring locations.
