If you’re looking for the best Sorcerer Vocation build in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ve come to the right place. As someone who has maxed out this Vocation, I have figured out the best skills, augments, and gear for your spellcaster.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Best Sorcerer spells and skills
Sorcerers excel at powerful AoE spells and high magic damage at the expense of long casting times. This can luckily be altered with the Quick Spell skill, which I use nearly 100% of the time when casting. They can also use Levitate to cross chasms or reach high places. But what about your main skills? Here are the main spells a Sorcerer should have on them at all times:
- High Flagration
- High Levin
- High Frigor
- High Seism
To ensure I can cover the three main elements for enemy weaknesses, I have High Flagration, Levin, and Frigor, which casts a fire, lightning, and ice spell. I use High Levin most often as it has a far range and I can cast multiple lightning strikes with follow-up attacks. High Flagration is a medium-range fire breath attack, and High Frigor is good for close or medium-range ice spike attacks.
I then have High Seism ready to use against enemies who are strong against elemental damage but open to physical damage. It causes huge eruptions of stone beneath the ground and can topple large enemies. High Seism has a long cast time and will eat up your stamina, but it’s a very powerful spell.
Best Sorcerer Augments
Did you know that you’re not just stuck with Sorcerer Augments as this Vocation? You can also benefit from Augments of other Vocations but only if you’ve unlocked them. Here are the Augments that I believe would serve your Sorcerer best:
- Constancy (Sorcerer)
- Catalysis (Sorcerer)
- Sagacity (Sorcerer)
- Beatitude (Mage)
- Exaltation (Mage)
- Subtlety (Thief)
Three great Sorcerer Augments to keep for your Sorcerer are Constancy, Catalysis, and Sagacity. Constancy augments your knockdown resistance, and this happens quite a bit as a magick caster who gets targeted by enemies often. Catalysis increases damage dealt when exploiting an enemy’s elemental weakness, which is good for a Sorcerer and Mage build.
Then there’s Sagacity, which simply augments your magick. This is a Sorcerer’s best stat, so this Augment is crucial. I’d also add Beatitude from the Mage Vocation, which increases your HP recovered by cures and curative magicks. You’ll be healing yourself often as someone with a weaker defense.
Exaltation is another good Mage Augment for a Sorcerer since it augments your Stamina recovery speed. Stamina consumption and regulation are very important for Sorcerers, so this is a must-have. Finally, Subtlety is from the Thief Vocation but it works well for Sorcerers. It decreases the likelihood of being targeted by foes, and since this happens all the time as a Sorcerer I need this Augment. Start picking on someone your own size!

Reminder: Get gear enhancements for your Sorcerer at the Sacred Arbor (elven territory) since they will focus on improving your magick stats.
