Best skills in RoboCop: Rogue City

Make RoboCop unstoppable with these picks.

One of the best things about RoboCop is the skill tree and how you can shape his abilities to fit your playstyle. There’s an overwhelming list of skills to pick from, and they aren’t created equally. With this in mind, here are the best skills in RoboCop: Rogue City.

What are Skills in RoboCop: Rogue City?

RoboCop has an extensive Skill Tree you can access anytime through the main menu. You gain a Skill Point each time you earn 1000XP, which is done through collecting contraband items like Nuke and Fake Money. You’ll also get XP as part of mission debriefings, and you can even find Skill Points around the map, although they are uncommon.

Each Skill on the tree can be upgraded 10 times with a new perk being granted upon spending 2, 6, and 10 points. It’s worth mentioning that your Skill choices are permanent and cannot be undone once you’ve confirmed your choices.

Early on, I strongly recommend investing points into the Armor Skill. At 2 points, you’ll earn the Shield ability. The Shield has a short cooldown and temporarily reduces damage taken by a whopping 80%. Compared to every other Skill in RoboCop: Rogue City, Shield is downright busted and well worth the cost.

You can unlock the High Damage Reduction perk by spending 6 points on the Armor Skill. You’ll quickly notice that most of your damage comes from explosives, and this perk permanently reduces that damage by 25%.

Finally, for the early part of your adventure, I recommend putting at least 2 points into Vitality. This investment gives you an additional Recovery Charge and allows you to use Fuse Boxes for extra heals. Fuse Boxes are pretty common, so you’ll get a lot of use out of the Skill.

What other skills should I get in RoboCop: Rogue City?

Combat is an excellent tree to invest in as it gives additional weapon damage. The issue is the perks aren’t that great. You earn Shockwave by spending 2 points in Combat, but the range is so pitiful, you may as well just grab your opponent at that point. Still, more damage is always a good thing.

If you’re invested in the story, 6 points in the Psychology tree will give you Empathetic Processing. This perk highlights favorable dialogue options, which can come in handy.

The Focus tree is one of the weaker options, but there’s no denying how fantastic the Enhanced Critical Damage perk is. If you put 6 points into the tree, you can enjoy double Critical Damage, which is massive.

My final recommendation is the Deduction tree. The XP boost is nice, and the Enhanced Scanning and Enhanced Map perks come in handy, especially during side quests.

Feel free to experiment, but the Skills I’ve mentioned should set you up nicely for fighting crime in Detroit and beyond.
