Best skills in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, ranked

From great to best.

When trying to decide what the best skills to unlock are in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, you should refer to this ranked list.

While you may not agree with some of these choices and rankings, I’ve spent a lot of time with this game and can explain why these skills are some of the best.

10. Flying Takedown

Once you unlock your ikran bird companion, you’ll also receive a whole new section of the skill tree. I quite enjoyed aerial combat, sometimes more than on-the-ground combat. This is why I added Flying Takedown to the list.

This skill costs three skill points and allows you to take down RDA Scorpions and Samsons while they’re staggered. You must be flying on your ikran, but this skill allows you to get rid of pesky RDA enemies while also automatically gathering materials and looting them.

9. Extra Ammo II

Having enough ammo stocked up is crucial when entering fights in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. This is especially true since crafting new ammo forces you to pause mid-combat to find a safe spot to quickly restock ammo.

But this Extra Ammo II skill allows you to carry twice the amount of special arrows, spears, and firearm rounds. Since you can’t hold as many special ammo types as you can normal ones, having this skill will help you run out of special ammo less often.

8. Aerial Fishing I

As someone who struggled to figure out how to feed her ikran, my bird was running out of energy fast. I needed a solution, which was the Aerial Fishing I skill, which allows your ikran to catch fish while flying right above deep waters.

Since fish can replenish your ikran’s energy, I find this skill useful for quickly getting your bird’s energy up mid-flight. This skill also has more upgrades to it on the skill tree for improved Aerial Fishing abilities.

7. Vigor II

One thing you’ll realize while playing through Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is that your energy will run out fast. This is why you should look at unlocking Vigor II sooner than later.

With this skill, you’ll gain an additional 50% of your base energy. That’s quite a lot more energy, which you’ll need if you’re also fast traveling everywhere (which costs 20% energy).

6. Scavenging Expert

Spare parts are one of the types of tradeable currencies, just like Clan Favor. But it’s also used for crafting certain ammo types. Seeing as spare parts are so sought-after, you should unlock Scavenging Expert.

Although it costs three skill points, Scavenging Expert will allow you to sometimes find spare parts when looting AMPs. You’ll be doing this quite often while in combat with the RDA, so this will quickly become a useful skill to have.

5. Silent Destroyer

At a high price of four skill points, Silent Destroyer is a great skill to work up to. This will allow you to stealth kill enemies with armored weak points. Normally, you can only stealth kill unarmored enemies, unless you have this skill.

The deeper into the main quest you go, the tougher the enemies you’ll come across. Sneaking into RDA facilities is best for survival, so I highly recommend trying out Silent Destroyer.

4. Light-Footed Hunter II

Speaking of stealth, since it’s a huge part of tackling combat encounters, Light-Footed Hunter II can help alleviate a ton of stress. Normally, you’d have to be crouching to avoid making noise, but not with this skill.

Light-Footed Hunter II will have you making no noise when moving, even if you’re running. I find that taking over RDA bases is difficult because I’ll constantly get caught. Luckily, this skill can stop that from happening so often.

3. Raw Food Diet

Keeping your energy up is important since you require it to replenish your health automatically. Low energy means no health regeneration. But Raw Food Diet can help you keep your energy up.

This skill will make it so that raw food ingredients replenish twice as much energy. Normally, eating fully cooked meals is the best way to replenish energy. But Raw Food Diet can help you in dire situations if you have some spare raw ingredients.

2. Sturdy Arrows

Many video games allow you to shoot arrows and recollect them, but Avatar Frontiers of Pandora doesn’t start that way. Every arrow shot is wasted unless you have the Sturdy Arrows skill.

I find the Sturdy Arrows skill to be super helpful since your hunting arrows will no longer break upon impact and may be recovered. This way, you don’t have to keep crafting new arrows all the time.

1. Longbow Expert

This skill, which costs four skill points, takes the number one spot on this ranked list. Once you see what it does, you’ll see why it’s so expensive: each hit from a fully drawn Longbow adds 25% damage to your next shot.

What’s even better is that it can stack up to three times. The Longbow doesn’t take too long to fully draw anyway. So if you get three quick hits in succession, your damage will add up very quickly.
