Here are all the Sin Doctrines that I cataloged in Cult of the Lamb:

  • Option 1
    • Rite of Lust – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual around the Totem in the form of a naked, naughty dance by the followers. The appointed Mayflower leader receives a maxed-out Sin. This acts as a brief vacation ritual which means Followers won’t work for a day.
    • Rite of Wrath – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual around the lands, causing havoc around by all of your Followers. The appointed Wrath leader receives a maxed-out Sin. Side effect includes negative trait earned by a random Follower, some Followers either get injured or die, and some structures and buildings get destroyed, requiring repair.
  • Option 2
    • Sinner’s Pride – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual at your Temple, causing the chosen Follower to take on the Sin of other followers. It will also accumulate sins from this ritual.
    • Gluttony of Cannibals – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual at your Temple, causing your targeted Follower to be devoured by the other Followers. Accumulates a full Sin, but at the cost of 40 Faith, unless you have taken Cannibal Trait from Tier 2 Sustenance.
  • Option 3
    • Doctrinal Extremist – [Trait] Choose to generate Sin from the Confession Booth instead of Loyalty.
    • Violent Extremist – [Trait] Chance of Sin appearing as a reward from mini-bosses.
  • Option 4
    • Born of Sin – [Trait] Followers hatched in the cult will be born with some Sin.
    • Blind Allegiance – [Trait] Followers hatched in the cult will be born with a high Loyalty level.

Here are the Sin Doctrines ranked worst to best:

  1. Blind Allegiance – [Trait] Followers hatched in the cult will be born with a high Loyalty level.
  2. Violent Extremist – [Trait] Chance of Sin appearing as a reward from mini-bosses.
  3. Rite of Wrath – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual around the lands, causing havoc around by all of your Followers. The appointed Wrath leader receives a maxed-out Sin. Side effect includes negative trait earned by a random Follower, some Followers either get injured or die, and some structures and buildings get destroyed, requiring repair.
  4. Born of Sin – [Trait] Followers hatched in the cult will be born with some Sin.
  5. Gluttony of Cannibals – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual at your Temple, causing your targeted Follower to be devoured by the other Followers. Accumulates a full Sin, but at the cost of 40 Faith, unless you have taken Cannibal Trait from Tier 2 Sustenance.
  6. Doctrinal Extremist – [Trait] Choose to generate Sin from the Confession Booth instead of Loyalty.
  7. Sinner’s Pride – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual at your Temple, causing the chosen Follower to take on the Sin of other followers. It will also accumulate sins from this ritual.
  8. Rite of Lust – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual around the Totem in the form of a naked, naughty dance by the followers. The appointed Mayflower leader receives a maxed-out Sin. This acts as a brief vacation ritual which means Followers won’t work for a day.

Here are the best Sin Doctrine choices in Cult of the Lamb:

  • Option 1
    • Rite of Lust – [Ritual] Perform a Ritual around the Totem in the form of a naked, naughty dance by the followers. The appointed Mayflower leader receives a maxed-out Sin. This acts as a brief vacation ritual which means Followers won’t work for a day.

  • Option 4
    • Born of Sin – [Trait] Followers hatched in the cult will be born with some Sin.

In my opinion, the best Sin Doctrines focus on obtaining as much Sin as possible for as little damage as possible. With that in mind, the best Sin Doctrines are Rite of Lust, Sinner’s Pride, Doctrinal Extremist, and Born of Sin.

Rite of Lust is better than Rite of Wrath because you get the same amount of Sin for one vacation day instead of random negative Traits on Followers, injured or dead Followers, and destroyed buildings.

Sinner’s Pride is better than Gluttony of Cannibals because you can harness the entire cult’s Sin meters into one person instead of most being half full. Gluttony of Cannibals is a fun Ritual, but it costs too much Faith and you earn just as much if not more Sin with Sinner’s Pride.

I know Doctrinal Extremist is the best pick. You don’t lose your ability to get Loyalty from Followers in the Confession Booth, but you do gain another way to get Sin which is very important. Violent Extremist is too rare considering you’ll use the Confession Booth much more often than you will fight mini-bosses, and even then it’s only a chance you get Sin through that method.

Born of Sin is better than Blind Allegiance because there are dozens of ways to get Loyalty and Divine Inspiration but there aren’t as many ways to get Sin. Especially when combined with Sinner’s Pride, Born of Sin is the way to go.

Take my word for which Sin Doctrines are the best. These four best Sin Doctrines are essential to farming Sin fast in Cult of the Lamb.
