While the mainline story has been fantastic to dive into, there’s also some outstanding side missions for players to partake in, which we’re going to break down some of the best ones within the game!

Throughout the game, there are going to be various instances where players will want to complete certain side missions, such as the Prowler stashes, or the FNSM app requests. While these may seem mundane at first glance, the end reward of these offers some of the best side missions we’ve seen in gaming this year, alongside some real tear-jerkers.

All the more while, Insomniac Games has done a splendid job at not prolonging these missions either, they shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes give or take, so you can get right back into the action.

In no particular order, these are some of the best side missions in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

1. Howard

This is one of the FNSM app requests players will get towards the Financial District of NYC, and it concludes the story of Howard and his beloved pigeons. We won’t spoil this one for you, but it’s 100% worth completing.

2. Grandpa

Another FNSM mission that players can tackle, revolves around locating someone’s missing grandpa within Central Park. While the beginning of the quest is rather mundane, players will easily see why we have it on our list when you sit down on the park bench.

3. Unidentified Targets

One of the missions players will unlock towards the halfway point in the game is a little speed course set around Kraven’s Hunter Drones. There are only eight of these around the map, but the finale of this sets up a pretty important character that we believe will be involved in some later DLC or potentially the third Spider-Man game from Insomniac.

4. Mysterio

Miles will get to partake in these Mysterio trails throughout the map once they’ve completed the fair mission early on within Spider-Man 2. It’s a challenge to accomplish gold in most of these, and the final fight between Mysterio is quite memorable.

5. Prowler Stashes

They’re are around eight of these located around the map that Uncle Aaron has tasked Miles with finding, and at the end of collecting these, there’s a heartwarming mission players will get to take part in.

6. Brooklyn Visions

There are only a few of these that Miles can complete and each of them have a nice story behind them, and it offers one of the best suits for Miles at the end of completing it.

7. Spider-Bots

While these aren’t really classified as a side mission, as they’re more so a collectible around the islands; there’s quite a special cut scene players will be able to view once they’ve earned all 42 Spider-Bots. So, we think it should fall under the side mission category.

8. The Flame

Lastly, we have The Flame sequence of missions which only Peter will be able to partake in, and this will involve the mysterious flame cult, and Wraith, or Yuri, as we know from other titles. The finale of these four missions further sets up an iconic villain within the Spider-Verse, and players will 100% want to partake in these

These are some of the best missions within the entire game, and it’s worth taking some time off from the main story and really sinking your teeth into these.
