Best Plate Carriers in MW3 Warzone Ranked

Not every Plate Carrier is created equally

You can find Plate Carriers while looting in Warzone, and they all provide powerful bonuses. These benefits work like Perks, and although finding them is up to chance, it’s good to know what they do and if they’re any good. Here are the best Plate Carriers in MW3 Warzone Ranked.

What is a Plate Carrier in MW3 Warzone?

Plate Carriers can be found all across the map and grant various benefits. These bonuses are functionally identical to Perks, and the Plate Carrier’s name determines what it does. On the official Call of Duty blog, the developers explain that Plate Carriers used to function differently from Perks, but this has been changed.

Every MW3 Warzone Plate Carrier ranked

There are four Plate Carriers in Warzone, and I’ve ranked them from best to worst. As these items have Perk effects, there’s a chance that they clash with one you may already have on your Loadout. Keep this in mind, as the effects don’t stack:

  • Stealth Plate Carrier: Ghost Perk
  • Comms Plate Carrier: Birdseye Perk
  • Tempered Plate Carrier: Tempered Perk
  • Medic Plate Carrier: Survivor Perk

Stealth Plate Carrier

I may rate Ghost too highly, but immunity to UAVs, Portable Radars, and Heartbeat Sensors is too good to pass up. As an aggressive player who likes engagements up close and personal, UAVs are a death sentence.

Radar pings aren’t the end of the world early on, but they are a serious problem when the play area starts to shrink. You need to be moving for the Perk to function, but it’s a small price to pay for such a decisive advantage. If you don’t have Ghost in your Loadout, the Stealth Plate Carrier is one of the most valuable items on the map.

Comms Plate Carrier

The Comms Plate Carrier narrowly misses out on the top spot but is arguably the best for the endgame. This Plate Carrier bestows the Birdseye Perk, improving your UAVs and detecting Ghosted players.

Nullifying the Ghost perk is a game-changer and is incredibly strong in the closing circle. The Comms Plate Carrier is fantastic, but it still relies on you having UAVs at your disposal. If you have Ghost on your Loadout and pick this Plate Carrier up, you’re in a solid position to win the entire match.

Tempered Plate Carrier

The Tempered Plate Carrier lets you fill your vest with two plates instead of three. This small change does wonders for your armor economy, as fights are often decided by who has armor and who doesn’t.

Tempered is a handy Perk but not one I’d recommend in your regular Loadout, hence the lower placement on this list.

Medic Plate Carrier

Bringing up the rear is the Medic Plate Carrier, which grants the Survivor Perk. Survivor pings enemies that down you, reduces cash loss on death, and speeds up revives. My issue with the Medic Plate Carrier is that it helps when the situation goes sour but doesn’t stop it from happening.

I’d take a Perk that improves my survival rate or kill potential over Survivor any day. The ping-when-down effect is nice, but it’s only valuable for a squad where proper comms would be more helpful. Ultimately, the Medic Plate Carrier is better than nothing but utterly overshadowed by the other options.
