The parade sequence from the original Final Fantasy 7 has been greatly expanded in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, allowing you to customize your parade formation with troops that you find throughout Junon. To earn the highest possible score for your performance, you’ll need the best combination of troops.
You only need to recruit five different troops to begin the parade in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but collecting them all will give you the most freedom when it comes to creating formations. Different troop combinations can unlock harder formations and, in turn, earn you more points, bringing you one step closer to the Presidential Commendation (and a missable trophy).
Which Parade Formation Should You Choose in FF7 Rebirth?
While you can mix and match Seventh Infantry units to create a wide variety of formations, the absolute best combination is two Riot Troopers, two Grenadiers, and one Flametrooper. Placing the Flametrooper in the center of the group with a pair of Riot Troopers and Grenadiers on each side will unlock the best set of formations for the parade.
With this selection of soldiers, you’ll unlock Ramuh Formation, Shiva Formation, and Bahamut Formation for your parade performance. Each of these is a three-star formation, which is the hardest tier of them all. If you manage to pull them off by inputting the correct buttons during the minigame, however, you’ll earn the maximum possible amount of points.
Formation Bonus
Remember that the Riot Troopers and Grenadiers must be placed side by side for these formations to unlock. Putting the same type of troop next to each other adds a Formation Bonus, which makes your formations even better. You can mix in some standard Security Officers if you don’t want three-star formations in for every step of the parade performance, but remember that easier formations won’t be as impressive and won’t earn you as many points.
Make sure you take the time to explore Junon and collect as many Seventh Infantry troops as you can before reporting to the commander to begin the parade. While you can’t fail the minigame and ruin the main story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you’ll get a trophy if you manage to score higher than the other parade groups.
