In Palworld, some Pals can be assigned to a ranch to produce items, as a passive means of gaining food or resources. Out of all the farming Pals, however, some are simply much better to farm than others.
Farming Pal Spheres in Palworld
For the early game, the most useful farming resource in Palworld is the Pal Sphere. The Pal Vixy, when assigned to a Ranch, will dig up Arrows, Gold, and Pal Spheres. Needless to say, this will save not only time but also resources, as you can save up your Paldium for better quality Pal Spheres.
Vixy spawns only at the location pictured below:
No matter what stage you’re at in the game, regular Pal Spheres will always be an asset. Capturing Pals for the EXP bonus is a great way to level up, and now you won’t have to inject resources into crafting the hundreds of Pal Spheres needed to complete this feat.
Note that Vixy won’t dig up better quality Spheres as they level up or get promoted through the Pal Essence Condenser. They will always dig up regular blue Pal Spheres no matter how strong they are.
Farming Flame Organs in Palworld
I simply couldn’t believe when I saw that Flambelle would drop Flame Organs when assigned to a ranch. Flame Organs are a precious resource, as they’re used mostly for fire weapons and a little for building. Being able to farm Flame Organs will save so much time, and it will allow you to mass produce Fire Arrows for the Fire Bow or Fire Crossbow.
Flambelle spawns in these locations:
Fire Arrows are much more efficient and powerful than regular Arrows, and now that their expense has been curbed, you can finally issue the order for hundreds of them.
The other organs, Electric Organs and Ice Organs can’t be farmed as far as I’m aware, so you’ll still have to hunt for those. We may see this feature in the future, however.

Farming Gold in Palworld
There are a couple of ways to get rich quick in Palworld, but assigning Mau to a Ranch will make the process passive. Gold isn’t needed for a lot in Palworld, but you’ll still want a lot for the few occasions you’ll want to buy something.
Mau spawns in caves, so you’ll have to do some spelunking to get one! You may also get lucky and hatch one from a Dark Egg.
Mau will dig up 10 Gold at a time and will dig rather frequently. So if you assign quite a few to your Ranch, you’ll find a lot of Gold when you return.
Farming Cotton Candy in Palworld
Cotton Candy is a good food source as it increases a Pal’s Sanity. Woolipop is the sweet Pal that farms it, which also allows you to have an unlimited food source. Do note that Cotton Candy only provides five nutrition. It’s an awful food for actually feeding your base. However, its Sanity improvements make it a good food to have mixed in with their other food sources.
You can find Woolipop here:
Pals who are feeling rather fed up may eat a Cotton Candy or two purely to improve their Sanity. If you plan on working your Pals hard through the Monitoring Stand, it’ll be worth having lots of Cotton Candy available to prevent them from slacking off.

Farming Milk in Palworld
In Palworld, if you plan on breeding and hatching powerful Pals, then you’ll need lots of Cake. Of all the resources needed for the Cake, Milk is by far the most scarce. This is because the only Pal who drops it can only be found in one location.
Mozzarinas can be found here:
Farming milk also provides a great food source to compliment the Cotton Candy, if you plan on farming it. It provides 12 Nutrition, so make sure to have a few Mozzarinas to keep up with the demand if you plan on making it your primary food source.
Note that you can farm for all other non-crop ingredients required for the Cake, but they are more readily available than Milk, thus don’t necessitate a section in this guide.
Building a Ranch in Palworld
To get started farming these resources in Palworld, you’ll first need to build the Ranch. The Ranch is unlocked at level 5 and costs 50 Wood, 20 Stone, and 30 Fibre. It requires a lot of space, however, so make sure there is a flat piece of land ready.
With the Ranch built, any Pals with the Farming Work Suitability will head to the Ranch for grazing if none of their other jobs need to be done. They’ll then automatically start producing their resource. Note that you can fix a Pal to ranching if you throw them inside one. They will ignore their other jobs and just produce their items.
You can only have five Pals on the Ranch at any one time. If you try to Fix Assign another Pal when the Ranch is at capacity, then another Pal will simply stop grazing and will do something else or go idle, even if you have Fixed Assigned them to the Ranch. If you want to farm more than five Pals, then you’ll need to build more Ranches.
Make sure there is also a storage chest and Feed Box next to the Ranches for easy transportation and eating, to maximize your Ranch’s efficiency.
Now that you know of the best Pals for your Ranch in Palworld, why don’t you find out how to hatch Pals with the Egg Incubator?
