Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance: Best Miracles tier list

S-Tier Miracles

  • Divine Persuasion
  • Rank Violation
  • Divine Proficiency
  • Empowering Cheer
  • Deathly Aura III
  • Prayer of Magic
  • Prayer of Strength
  • Divine Amalgamation
  • Embolden
  • Demon Proficiency

There are a ton of great Miracles in SMT V Vengeance, but the ones in S-Tier are a must-buy. Divine Persuasion will allow Demons to join you sometimes unconditionally without persuading them, making demon negotiation so much easier. There’s also Rank Violation which ignores level limitations when fusing Demons, and Divine Proficiency which will grant an extra skill slot for Nahobino.

Empowering Cheer can recover HP and MP after leveling up, which is great for the early game when you’re struggling to recover MP. Deathly Aura III is also good for players struggling to gain Essence since it allows you to demand Essence from cornered demons.

Prayer of Magic and Prayer of Strength will give a +1 increase to a demon ally’s Magic and Strength respectively once a demon levels up, although it only works until a certain level. Divine Amalgamation allows you to grant defensive elemental affinities to Nahobino when fusing Essences, helping you become stronger against certain attacks.

Finally, there’s Embolden, which increases the amount added to your Magatsuhi Gauge every turn, and Demon Proficiency will give your demon allies an extra skill slot. You can only hold so many skills at once, so you shouldn’t ignore this Miracle.

A-Tier Miracles

  • Divine Garrison
  • Magatsuhi Wellspring
  • Enhanced Summon
  • Knowledge of Tools
  • Dread
  • Divine Eminence
  • Inspiring Covenant
  • Warrior’s Conception
  • Art of Essences

A-Tier Miracles are still great to unlock, but they shouldn’t be your priority. Divine Garrison will increase your demon stock so you can hold more demons, and Magatsuhi Wellspring allows allies to recover a bit of HP and MP if the Magatsuhi Gauge is full at the start of their turn.

Then there’s Enhanced Summon which raises a random stat for summoned demon allies by one rank, which may not sound like a lot but it can help in the long run. Knowledge of Tools is also more useful than you think since it allows demons to use items during battle instead of just Nahobino.

All enemies will get a random stat lowered by one rank at the start of the battle with Dread, and you can recruit demons above Nahobino’s level through negotiation with Divine Eminence. Otherwise, Inspiring Covenant causes demons recruited in battle to level up immediately, making it easier to have a balanced party.

The two final A-Tier Miracles are Warrior’s Conception and Art of Essences. While the former grants EXP to newly-fused demons based on the stats of the demons fused, the latter allows you to select skills from Essences.

B-Tier Miracles

  • Constant Vigilance
  • Fell Swoop
  • Healer’s Hospitality
  • Merchant’s Hospitality
  • Skill Manifestation
  • Pacification
  • Counter Inceptive: Resist
  • Counter Inceptive: Null
  • Race Transcendence
  • Demonic Discipline

While these B-Tier Miracles are good to unlock at some point, they won’t help you as much as the other Miracles we’ve already reviewed. Constant Vigilance will increase the Magatsuhi Gauge by a small amount at the start of the battle, and Fell Swoop also increases the Magatsuhi Gauge slightly but when you deal damage to an enemy’s weakness or land a Crit.

While Healer’s Hospitality reduces the cost of healing at Leyline Founts, Merchant’s Hospitality reduces item prices at Cadaver’s Hollow, which are both decent Miracles for frugal players. Skill Manifestation can grant a demon ally a new skill upon leveling up, but it’s only a small chance.

A demon may forgive you if their mood worsens mid-negotiation with Pacification, but this doesn’t outright mean they’ll team up with you. Counter Inceptive: Resist/Null are two Miracles that fill the Magatsuhi Gauge if an ally is struck by an element that they’re resistant to or an element they can nullify/repel/absorb.

Finally, we have Race Transcendence, which allows Nahobino to use the race-specific Magatsuhi Skills of other party members. There’s also Demonic Discipline which increases your EXP earned by demons in your stock post-battle, allowing them to level up faster.

Now that you know about the best Miracles in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, what about the best stats to level up first?
