Jaheira is one of the non-main recruitable companions you’ll meet in Act 2. If you do end up recruiting the companion Jaheira, you’ll need to know about the best build for her in Baldur’s Gate 3.
She starts as a Circle of the Spores Druid, but I don’t think that’s enough to keep her around. I’ll be giving her a multiclass build that’ll make her a unique but helpful member of the party.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Best Jaheira companion build
This Half-Elf Druid could certainly be useful as a Circle of the Moon druid, but I instead would make that for Halsin’s build. Instead, Jaheira would prove useful as a Circle of the Spores Druid/Wildheart Barbarian multiclass, and here’s why.
Best Jaheira Ability Scores in BG3
Multiclass builds can be tricky when you need to prioritize multiple Ability Scores. For Jaheira, the main two that matter most are Wisdom, Constitution, and Strength. Wisdom is her spellcasting focus, Constitution will improve her AC (through Unarmored Defense) and health, while Strength will buff her melee attacks. Dexterity is important too, but I’d keep Charisma and Intelligence pretty low.
Ability | Score |
---|---|
Strength | 14 |
Dexterity | 12 |
Constitution | 15 (+1) |
Intelligence | 8 |
Wisdom | 17 (+2) |
Charisma | 8 |

Although you do only get two Feats with this build, there are a ton of bonuses to this multiclass. Combining Halo of Spores and Symbiotic Entity will create a great amount of Necrotic damage. Meanwhile, I chose the Bear Bestial Heart simply because it can keep Jaheira up in the fight casting spells and maintaining Symbiotic Entity.
For Feats, I made sure to improve her Wisdom, since that’s an important stat to keep high for spellcasting. And War Caster is great for any spellcaster who uses Concentration spells a lot. During Wild Shape, Jaheira can hit twice, and out of Wild Shape she has Extra Attack to do the same. There are a ton of avenues to explore during combat for Jaheira.

Best Spells for Jaheira in BG3
- Cantrips
- Guidance
- Thorn Whip
- Level 1
- Cure Wounds
- Ice Knife
- Entangle
- Level 2
- Flame Blade
- Hold Person
- Detect Thoughts
- Level 3
- Animate Dead
- Call Lightning
- Plant Growth
- Level 4
- Blight
- Ice Storm
- Grasping Vine
Although Jaheira won’t gain access to fifth and sixth-level spells, there are tons of great options still available. Guidance is necessary for boosting any skill checks, while Thorn Whip can drag an enemy towards you.
Cure Wounds is your typical healing spell, and Ice Knife can deal damage while also making a slippery icy surface appear. Spells like Entangle can be good to cast inside your Halo of Spores to keep enemies inside it.
The same goes for Hold Person, which can force enemies to stay inside your cloud. There’s also Flame Blade, which doesn’t require Concentration and deals Fire damage. Detect Thoughts is useful, as it can allow you to read people’s thoughts during conversations.
Then there’s Animate Dead, perfect for getting some help on the battlefield. Call Lightning can shoot down Lightning damage, and you can cast it again as a Cantrip. Plant Growth is a spell that can impede enemy movement inside your Halo of Spores.
Jaheira will always have Blight prepared, which deals an incredible amount of damage. Ice Storm is a good AoE Ice damage spell, while Grasping Vine is another great tool for dragging creatures back into your spore cloud.
Best weapons and armor for Jaheira in BG3
When it comes to decent weapons for this multiclass build, there’s a lot you can choose from. You want something that’ll deal a decent amount of damage, so don’t go for a staff. Here are some perfect options for Jaheira:
- Thorn Blade: Can deal an additional 1d4 Poison damage, and can cast Ensnaring Strike.
- Selûne’s Spear of Night: Gain Advantage on WIS saves and Perception checks, get Darkvision, learn Moonbeam and Moonmote spells.
- Ironwood Club: When you cast Shillelagh on it, you get Ironwood Harmony (extra 1d4 Bludgeoning damage).
- The Blood of Lathander: If your HP reduces to zero, you regain 2d6 HP (allies nearby gain 1d6 HP), Lathander’s Light feature (undead become blinded), and learn Sunbeam spell.
- Handmaiden’s Mace: Deals Poison damage and sets your Strength to 18.
For armor, you’ll be stuck with clothing since you won’t be able to gain Rage benefits with armor on. There are still tons of great clothing available, and since your AC will add both your CON and DEX, you should be fine numbers-wise.
- Robe of the Weave: AC +2, gain +2 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls, and regain 1d6 HP when you succeed a saving throw against a spell.
- Bonespike Garb: Gain 15 temporary HP when you Rage, reduce all damage by two, and when hit by a melee attack the attacker takes CON modifier amount of Piercing damage.
- Robe of Supreme Defences: When Concentrating, add your spellcasting modifier to your saving throws and gain +1 AC bonus.
- Enraging Heart Garb: Gains two turns of Wrath (+1 bonus to melee weapon damage) when Raging, and CON goes up by two.
