It's not just a gimmick.

Of the many settings in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, gyro aiming is perhaps the most unique. When used properly, it can completely change how you aim and even has the potential to make your controller capable of outputting mouse-like precision. Here’s our guide on the best gyro aiming settings in CoD MW2 and Warzone 2.

Best Gyro Aiming settings in COD MW2 & Warzone 2

The gist of gyro aiming is that, rather than aiming with just the two analog sticks, you also use a controller’s gyro. This allows you to make finer adjustments than what is possible with traditional analog stick aim. Just be aware that you can only use gyro aiming if you have a controller that supports it, such as the DualShock 4 or DualSense.

It may seem gimmicky, but gyro aiming has serious potential to improve your gameplay. This is especially true when using precision weapons like snipers or when you are trying to control recoil at long range. Analog sticks just aren’t good at handling either of these situations, hence why aim assist is so strong in shooters.

There are two ways to set up your gyro settings in MW2. The first setup assumes you will be using gyro aim whenever aimed, in which case you want to set both your horizontal and vertical gyro sensitivity to between 7.00 and 13.00. This will give you good control over your aim without having to swing your controller around the room to trigger gyro aim.

The other option is to keep vertical sensitivity between 7.00 and 13.00, but leave your horizontal sensitivity at 0.00. These gyro settings are specifically designed to help control recoil in MW2 and Warzone 2. The idea is that as you shoot you’ll tilt your controller to offset the recoil, giving you incredible accuracy. For regular left to right movements, you’ll continue to use the right analog stick as normal. It’s recommended to try both setups and see what works best for you.

  • Gyro Behavior: ADS Only
  • Gravity Vector: ON
  • Gyro Sensitivity Horizontal: 0 or 7.00 – 13.00
  • Gyro Sensitivity Vertical: 7.00 – 13.00
