Best graphics settings for Enshrouded

Maximize your FPS in Enshrouded with these settings.

Enshrouded might not be the most graphically intensive game out there, but it still takes a relatively powerful PC to run at a smooth framerate. Thankfully, the game is quite optimized and you can knock down some graphical settings to make it run even better. Here, we’ll run you through the best Enshrouded graphics settings you’ll want to use.

Of course, you’ll still want to preserve the game’s art style and visuals somewhat, so turning everything to the absolute minimum isn’t recommended. Sure, you’d have a high framerate, but the game would look like garbage. If you want to get the best performance out of Enshrouded without making the game into a blurry mess, we’ve compiled a list of optimized graphics settings that will get you the best of both worlds.

Enshrouded Optimized Graphics Settings

  • Anti Aliasing: DLSS or FSR2
  • DLSS/FSR2 Quality: Balance
  • Texture Resolution: Quality
  • Shadow Quality: Balanced
  • Contact Shadows: On
  • Indirect Lighting: Balance
  • Reflections: Balance
  • Fog Quality: Performance
  • Volumetric Shadow Quality: Performance
  • SSAO: Balanced
  • Distant Objects: Balanced
  • Voxel Model Details: Balanced
  • Small Foliage: Performance/Off
  • Tesselation: Performance
  • Point Light Shadows: Performance

The main feature that will improve your FPS in Enshrouded is an upscaler like Nvidia’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR2. DLSS is the better of the two options, but it only works if you have an Nvidia RTX graphics card. AMD’s FSR2 works with any hardware though, so you should still be able to take advantage of the upscaling benefits. Balanced is a great middle ground, but if you’re running the game at 4K or a high resolution on an ultrawide monitor, you may want to try lowering it to Performance to maximize your FPS gains.

Outside of the resolution, the main things that tank performance in Enshrouded are the small details. For example, Fog Quality isn’t usually an important setting in most games, but since the Shroud is a huge part of Enshrouded, it’s best to set it to Performance to keep your framerate high. The same goes for Small Foliage and things like that. Enshrouded’s world is packed with small details, but they can kill your framerate fast if you keep them at their maximum quality settings.

Enshrouded’s system requirements aren’t anything major, however, so you shouldn’t need to turn down too many graphical settings unless you’re rocking an older graphics card or an aging processor. If the game pushes your hardware a little too hard, you can always wait for the upcoming Enshrouded console release.
