Top 5 Best Game Pass Games for PC

There's some hidden gems in the service.

Gaming is becoming more accessible, which makes it great for everyone. Since it’s an expensive hobby, having things like Game Pass makes it much more tangible.

While you get to play your favorite games for a low price, you can also check out others through the service’s catalog to find other hidden gems. To help you narrow down your search, I’ve put together the top 5 best Game Pass games on PC. So, follow along if you’re looking for something new to play.

5 Best PC Game Pass games on the service right now

The games on this list are ranked in no order. Mainly because they offer something different for a wide assortment of players. Even if you pick one or all of them, you’ll have a good time.

Starfield

This space opera has certainly made a presence in the gaming community. You either love or hate it — sadly, there’s no in-between. If you’re okay with Bethesda’s dated gaming mechanics, Starfield could be something worth trying. However, thanks to its expansive world and scope, the main story might take you a while to beat. You can get lost in the fun ship building section, or become a space pirate by attacking fellow travelers. There’s a lot of content that can keep you immersed for the long term.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

The fact that you get all three games from Commander Shepard’s saga as a remastered package should be the selling point. You can get lost in this deep and alive world. Every choice you make doesn’t just impact one game, it affects your entire story down to Mass Effect 3. It’s a great holdover to get us prepared for the next chapter in the Mass Effect universe. If you feel like Starfield is not something for you and you still want the massive scope of the game, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition can fill that void.

Minecraft Dungeons

Minecraft is a good game. I’d prefer it if there was an overarching goal that would make the game manageable. The answer to my prayers is Minecraft Dungeons. Not only do you get the same energy and playstyle as the base Minecraft game, but you also get to play an RPG style of gaming. Plus, you can take friends with you on your adventure. Initially, Minecraft Dungeons may seem short, but thankfully, the post-content support includes things like new levels. This way, you can keep the fun going for a long time.

Hi-Fi Rush

For platformers, Hi-Fi Rush is easy to get into but still offers a great sense of challenge. The game is centered around rhythm, and when you attack on beat, you do more damage. However, it’s not forced, which is why it’s my Game of the Year. I would recommend playing with the rhythm because it’s easy to follow along, and when you get it — you get it. Hi-Fi Rush is also home to both my favorite boss battle and level in all gaming. I think that should be enough for you to try it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I think Dead by Daylight has set a precedent for asymmetric horror games. By getting the help of your friends, you have a higher chance of escape. However, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre takes the formula and makes it even more anxiety-driven. Rather than having one killer, there are three. On the first level, you’ll deal with Leatherface, and as you move up, you’ll be facing other killers. The cool thing about the bad guys in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is that each of them has a different playstyle and is good for certain things, like Johnny. You can experiment and find out which one you like the most.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide is also on Game Pass. See if it’s worth your time a year later.
