Peter and Miles’s arsenal has grown quite a bit since we saw them in the last outing. Now more honed and perfected, there’s a lot in terms of keeping the pressure on enemies.
The one constant that stays the same is the gadgets. They can be unlocked at certain levels and if you have the resources. If you need help figuring out where to start, this guide will show the best gadget crafting order in Spider-Man 2 for each Spider-Man.
Spider-Man 2: Best gadget crafting order
Whenever you make a gadget while playing as one Spider-Man, the other will automatically get it much like Tech Suit upgrades. So you don’t have to re-buy each upgrade for both.
Below I’ll go over each gadget in the order they should be unlocked. This way you might be able to deal with many enemies better.
Web Shooter
This gadget is already unlocked, so it makes sense to place it first on the list. At the start, it can feel unpowered, but with some early upgrades such as allowing you to throw webbed-up enemies might make life easier. It can be used on the heavier enemies to keep them at bay, so you can take care of smaller guys first. The gadget can be a great way to extend a combo if the enemies are in low health.
Web Grabber
You might have this already unlocked at the start of the game, but if you don’t, I would say invest in this gadget first. Because there are so many enemies that will attack Spider-Man at once, controlling the fight is the best way to win. The Web Grabber not only helps with crowd control, it can also give you breathing room. This makes it quite important. As you throw the device in the middle of enemies, it will grab enemies towards it allowing you to attack multiple enemies at once.
Upgrading this gadget makes things even better. At one point the webs that yank the enemies together become electrified which speeds up your attack, so enemies will go down faster.
Concussion Blast
This is a little expensive, but trust me the sooner you get it, the better your fights become. Knocking back or pulling enemies towards won’t be enough. This is where the Concussion Blast comes into play. It creates and large blast that throws enemies back and stuns them. When things are getting dicey, one of these bad boys can almost immediately take the pressure off of you. Plus, as you upgrade, the blast radius gets stronger with enemies staying stunned for longer. So you can make combat go in your favor with a single blast.
Upshot
While the Web Grabber and Web Shooter might be unlocked for you, however, the Upshot won’t be. Which is why I’m placing it here. Following the trend of crowd control, the Upshot is a great alternative to Web Grabber. The difference is instead of pulling enemies towards the device, it’ll knock enemies back into the air making them open for attacks. If you like any of these air combos, the Upshot can make these attacks even better. From personal experience, extending air attacks is such a good way to highlight the greatness that is the game’s combat.
Ricochet Web
This gadget to me isn’t as important since it was the last one I unlocked. However, you should still buy it when you can since it pushes combos into the double-digit count. Ricochet Web isn’t that good at crowd control, it can still keep enemies away from you and give you much-needed breathing room. Unlike Web Shooters that focus on single enemies, the Ricochet Web bounces off enemies. It can be a good crowd-control gadget if you’ve used up the other tools.
I recommend using this gadget while you’re attacking. This means other devices can be thrown into a group of enemies that can start a fight. The Ricochet Web, it’s a great extension of your attack because as soon as enemies or knocked back, you can come up and do a finisher.
