Choosing which feats you want to add to your build can be extremely difficult. So what are the best feats for your companion Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3?
As a Rogue, there are specific feats that will go best with this vampire’s build. Here are the feats that I recommend for Astarion.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Best feats for Astarion (BG3)
Besides your typical Ability Improvement, tons of unique feats give you special abilities. If you’re keeping Astarion in the Rogue class, you’ll want to choose feats that’ll work best with his playstyle. Here are the best feats for Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3.
- Alert
- Mobile
- Lucky
- Sharpshooter
- Dungeon Delver
- Dual Wielder
Alert
With the Alert feat, Astarion would gain a +5 bonus to his Initiative roll, and he cannot be Surprised. He’s already pretty perceptive, but this allows him to go nearly always first in combat.
It also prevents enemies from ambushing him and the party. You probably want Astarion going first anyway, since if he’s an Assassin Rogue he’ll gain Advantage on targets who haven’t had their turn yet.
Mobile
Sneaky Rogues need that speed to get around fast. Mobile will increase Astarion’s movement speed by three meters, using Dash in Difficult Terrain won’t slow him down, and moving after making a melee attack won’t provide an Opportunity Attack from that target.
Mobile is great because it essentially gives three different bonuses. Rogues use the Dash Action quite a bit, and since you may not want to waste a Disengage Bonus Action, you can still avoid the Opportunity Attack.

Lucky
In my own game, I gave Astarion the Lucky feat, and it came in handy quite often. Lucky gives you three Luck Points per Long Rest. You can use them to gain Advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. Not only that, but you can make an enemy reroll their attack roll.
Lucky is such a useful feat, as you can essentially change fate three times a day. This gives Astarion a much bigger advantage, quite literally, during combat encounters.
Sharpshooter
If you’re making Astarion’s build more of a ranged build, you should consider the Sharpshooter feat. Your ranged weapon attacks won’t get penalized for the High Ground Rules.
You also gain a toggleable passive where your ranged weapon attacks with weapons you’re proficient with have a -5 penalty to the attack roll, but will deal an additional 10 damage. This way you don’t have to worry about shooting at high-up enemies when you’re on lower ground.
Dungeon Delver
If you hate falling into traps during your Baldur’s Gate 3 escapades, give Astarion the Dungeon Delver feat. He’ll get Advantage on Perception checks to detect hidden objects, as well as saving throws to avoid traps. Also, he’ll gain Resistance to trap damage.
Just be cautious, as many players online have noticed that this feat doesn’t work. This was reported a few months ago, so I’m not sure if this issue has been fixed by now. But if it does work, it’s quite handy when exploring trap-ridden areas.
Dual Wielder
With the Dual Wielder feat, Astarion would gain a +1 bonus to his Armor Class when dual-wielding melee weapons. He can also dual-wield two weapons that aren’t Light. Unfortunately, he cannot dual-wield Heavy weapons.
Since Astarion can be quite powerful with two melee weapons, you should consider trying Dual Wielder. During one turn, he can stab enemies twice while dual-wielding.
Now that you know about Astarion’s best feats, how about learning what the best build for Astarion is? We have a guide just for that!
