With over 50 shells to discover in Another Crab’s Treasure, it’s tough to know which are the best. When looking just at the beginning of your journey, what are the best early-game shells in Another Crab’s Treasure? Here’s a list of some to look out for during your first few hours in the game.
Another Crab’s Treasure: Best early-game shells
During your first few hours in Another Crab’s Treasure, you’ll want to make a mental note of the best early-game shells to grab. While you won’t always have the shells you want at your disposal, at least one of the shells on this list should be close by enough to use. Here are the best early-game shells:
- Soda Can
- Sauce Nozzle
- Teacup
- Coconut
- Wafer Cone
Soda Can
With a DEF of 30 and a medium weight, the Soda Can is the first shell you find and continues to be an incredible choice. This is especially true for boss battles since I won against Nephro and Magista using it.
The Fizzle Shell Spell is the best thing about it. The description only says that it releases pressurized air to push the enemy away, but the bubbles that hit enemies will degrade their health and increase their stagger. It also only costs one Umami Charge, making this the perfect shell to stagger enemies.
Sauce Nozzle
The Sauce Nozzle has a DEF of 25 and is small in weight. You can find Sauce Nozzle once you leave the first area after defeating Magista.
Twist Top, its Shell Spell, will have you spin around in circles to damage enemies around you. Since this costs only one Umami, it’s good for dealing some extra damage without much cost.
Teacup
Despite how fragile Teacups usually are, this shell has a DEF of 40 but is small in weight. The Teacup is available from pretty early on and is an optional shell to use against Magista.
The Morning Buzz ability will increase your attack speed for a short duration. Although it costs two Umami Charges, attack speed is a great buff to have against a tough boss.
Coconut
With a large weight and DEF of 35, the Coconut is a hefty shell that can give you a speed boost if you’re rolling down a hill inside of the shell.
Its Shell Spell Rollout only uses one Umami Charge and will have you quickly roll forward to either travel long distances or hit enemies. It’s not as good when the enemy decides to strafe out of the way, but otherwise, it’s good for a quick attack.
Wafer Cone
The Wafer Cone has a DEF of 25 and is medium in weight. It’s a good balance, and you can spend two Umami Charges to use the Freeze ability.
Freeze will freeze the water around you to slow down enemies. Although it costs a lot of charges to trigger, Freeze is great for hindering quick enemies.
Other than shells, Kril can hire Stowaways to add to his shell. Stowaways are great for giving yourself stat increases while wearing these shells.
