It’ll take you quite a while to be able to catch rare high-level mounts, but what if you want one during your first few hours? We have a list of the best early-game mounts to acquire in Palworld.

You don’t have to be at a super high level just to gain a mount, there are plenty of Pals available to catch and ride at the beginning of your playthrough.

Palworld: Best early-game mounts

Whether you want a ground, swimming, or flying mount, there are tons of options for the start of your playthrough. Although you need to unlock the specific Pal Gear to ride them, I’ve found a few great mount options before I’ve even reached 10 hours of gameplay.

Rushoar

Located all over the first area you spawn in, Rushoar looks like a brown boar. Rushoar is a great pick for a starter mount because you can unlock their Pal Gear right at Technology level six.

Sprinting on a Rushoar can still give it a good amount of speed, and it can even blast through stone or ore to break it for an easy harvest.

Direhowl Palworld Mounts

Direhowl

This ferocious wolf is great if you want one of the fastest mounts during the early game. Unlockable at Technology level nine, Direhowl has a Partner Skill allowing it to run faster than most mounts.

Direhowls are also located all over the spawn area, but be careful because they’re quite aggressive. Catch one, and you’ll have yourself a speedy ground mount.

Surfent

If you’re looking for a mount that’ll allow you to coast over the ocean waves, try catching a Surfent. At Technology level 10, you can acquire its saddle, allowing you to ride it over water.

It’ll also prevent Stamina depletion while riding across the water. Surfent is a little tougher to find in Palworld, but you’ll typically see them in the water.

Eikthyrdeer

This majestic creature is another excellent early-game choice for a ground mount. Eikthyrdeer is mountable at Technology level 12 and is available to catch in most areas near Rayne Syndicate Tower.

The cool thing about Eikthyrdeer is the fact that it can perform a double jump in the air. They’re quite fast, and can also increase your efficiency when cutting down trees.

Nitewing

The first flying mount you can catch and ride in Palworld is Nitewing, unlockable at Technology level 15. You’ll find Nitewing flying in the air further out from spawn, closer to Rayne Syndicate Tower.

Although its Partner Skill isn’t much besides giving you the ability to fly on it, Nitewing is a pretty quick flyer and is a great first choice for a flying mount.

Best Early Game Mounts In Palworld Vanwyrm

Vanwyrm

Once you’re done with Nitewing, you should move on to Vanwyrm, available to unlock by Technology level 21. You’ll most typically find Vanwyrm in the volcanic region west of spawn.

Vanwyrm flies faster than Nitewing, and increases your damage to enemy weak points while riding it. It’s also a mix of Fire and Dark type.
