The Arc Titan is a powerhouse on the field in Destiny 2 with the right build. Whether it’s in PvP or PvE, you’ll wreak havoc on whoever you’re up against. Here’s how to get the most out of this build in both game types.
Building the best Arc Titan Build in PvP and PvE
To start this off, let’s think about what an Arc Titan is best at. It’s really all based on its many melee abilities like Seismic Strike, Ballistic Slam, and Thunderclap. Then you have Thruster as a class ability which lets you zip around and meet your enemies head-on. And since Arc damage literally arcs out to other nearby enemies, your punches will deal a lot of damage consistently.
So in order to maximize the efficiency of your Arc Titan build in Destiny 2, you need to focus on ability regeneration first, then resilience and recovery to increase your survivability. Of course, some exotics’ll help you out even more. Let’s start with a PvE Arc Titan build.
PvE Build
In PvE, I think the right Arc Titan build is one of the most skilled clearers of smallfry enemies. Their melee attacks can grind most groups to dust in seconds and can wipe out a boss’ support in quick succession. So we’ll need armor and abilities that buff melee and regeneration cooldowns.
Exotic Armor:
- Heart of Inmost Light – Using an ability empowers the other two abilities.
Best weapons to use:
For me, the best weapons to use with an Arc Titan in PvE are Shotguns and fast firing weapons to deal with enemies that are at mid-range. So use a submachine gun with decent range or an auto rifle that has a high fire rate. My go-to weapons in this case are the Imperial Decree shotgun and the Funnelweb submachine gun.
Your Power Weapon slot can be made up with whichever weapon you like best. I personally think swords would be your best bet if you’re looking to strictly clear out weaker enemies in activities like Strikes. But always have a decent Rocket Launcher or Grenade Launcher at the ready in case you need to take something bigger down.

Best Abilities:
- Super – Fists of Havoc
- Class Ability – Thruster
- Movement Ability – High Lift
- Arc Melee – Thunderclap
- Arc Grenade – Pulse Grenade
- Aspects – Knockout and Touch of Thunder
- Fragments – Spark of Haste, Spark of Frequency, Spark of Resistance, Spark of Feedback
This setup will make your melee attacks far more powerful than they would otherwise be. And with the help of Thruster and Spark of Haste, you’ll be mobile enough to move around the battlefield at a good pace.
PvP Build
For PvP, many of the same sort of ideas apply for the Arc Titan build, but you’ll want to focus slightly less on putting all your eggs into the basket labeled ‘punch punch punch’. For PvP you’ll need to have a more balanced build that can get you through a variety of situations. But don’t worry you’ll still get to punch things.
Exotic Armor:
- Synthoceps – Increased melee lunge range and increases melee and super damage when surrounded.
Best weapons to use:
Once again I think that shotguns and submachine guns will work best for this Arc Titan build in PvP. You’ll have a slight disadvantage on larger maps, especially if the enemy team has sniper rifles. But if you play it carefully I think you won’t have much of a problem there.
Best Abilities:
- Super – Thundercrash
- Class Ability – Towering Barricade
- Movement Ability – Strafe Lift
- Arc Melee – Seismic Strike
- Arc Grenade – Lightning Grenade
- Aspects – Knockout and Touch of Thunder
- Fragments – Spark of Haste, Spark of Focus, Spark of Resistance, Spark of Feedback
It’s a very similar-looking build but there are some key differences. First, you’ll want to have Towering Barricade instead of Thrust in order to have better control over the map. A Titan’s shield is a powerful tool in the Crucible so you should definitely have it with you. Seismic Strike, Spark of Haste, and Spark of Focus work hand in hand with each other to boost your melee damage while sprinting which you can then use to decimate anyone that gets in the way.
For both builds Arc Titan builds you’re going to punch a lot of enemies in Destiny 2.
