Note: As a precursor to the best decks, you should check out what the best cards are in Harry Potter Magic Awakened.
What are the best decks in Harry Potter Magic Awakened?
The best decks in Harry Potter Magic Awakened are broken up into four categories. I think the best decks in the game are those with high spell cost, and high spell damage, but you might find more success with a monster-summoning deck. Each deck has its strengths and weaknesses, but overall, the best decks in Harry Potter Magic Awakened are created by farming Golden Keys and getting great cards.
Harry Potter Magic Awakened: Best deck tier list, explained
There are thousands of deck combinations in Harry Potter Magic Awakened, but there are four synergies that stand out as the best ways to craft a winning deck.
These synergies, or cards, companions, and echoes that blend well together, are the key to building the best decks in the game. I’ll offer a few card examples and tell you how to build the best-synergized decks, but since acquiring cards in Harry Potter Magic Awakened relies on gatcha mechanics, you can build the best deck with the cards you have.
High Cost, High Reward Spells
- Best Spells – Avada Kedavra, Thunderstorm, Essence of Dittany, Expelliarmus, Expulso
- Best Summons – Phoenix, Baby Antipodean Opaleye, Piertotum Locomotor
- Best Companions – Lottie Turner, Ivy Warrington
- Best Echoes – Hermione Granger
- Strong against every kind of deck
In my opinion, the best deck in Harry Potter Magic Awakened is the high-cost, high-reward spell deck. Requirements for this deck are the Hermione Granger echo that makes your high MP spells cost less after spending low spell cards. The trick is to have a healthy balance of high cards that can win games, like Avada Kedavra and Baby Antipodean Opaleye mixed in with low-cost cards that are still effective like Expelliarmus, Expulso, and Essence of Dittany.
The play style for this deck is to use your low-cost spells as much as possible until your high MP-costing cards are reduced. Then, use your high MP cards to destroy your opponent. I don’t have Avada Kedavra which makes this deck really good, but my fellow writer Matthew Mitchell does have Avada Kedavra and runs this deck. When playing duos, he won 12 games in a row which proves just how good this deck is.
Lottie Turner is a great companion that helps reduce your spells’ MP cost even more which is excellent. Though casting summons doesn’t trigger Hermione’s echo effect, using a high MP cost summon with reduced MP after using spells is an excellent strategy.
Monster Summons
- Best Spells – Swelling Solution, Nebulus, Protego Totalum
- Best Summons – Bombtastic Bomb Box, Spiders, Cornish Pixies, Stack of Monster Book of Monsters, Baby Antipodean Opaleye
- Best Companions – Ron Weasley, Malfoy Gang, Daniel Page
- Best Echoes – Newt Scamander, Rubeus Hagrid
- Strong against every deck except AoE decks.
There are a lot of great summon cards in Harry Potter Magic Awakened and making a strong summon deck is a great choice as it can be some of the best decks in the game. I highly recommend using Bombastic Bomb Box and a lot of summons that are fast. This combo is extremely deadly as it turns all of your already deadly summons into deadly bombers.
Summon decks don’t need many spells, but the ones that I highly recommend are Nebulus so you can mass heal your summons, Protego Totalum to protect your summons from dying, and Swelling Solution to make your summons faster and stronger. This combination of spells makes your summons really powerful.
For companions, Ron Weasley is the best since he is basically a really big summon that deals a ton of damage. Malfoy Gang is good for the same reasons and Daniel Page is also surprisingly good because he can continuously heal your summons. The best echo for the best summon decks is Newt Scamander since he gives you tons of summons for one MP, but Rubeus Hagrid is good also for protecting your big summons.
Crowd Control
- Best Spells – Orb of Water, Glacius, Incarcerous, Acromantula’s Venom, Incedio, Weasley’s Wildfire Whiz-Bangs, Protego Diabolica
- Best Summons – Fire Crab, Weasley’s Firework Box, Baby Antipodean Opaleye
- Best Companions – Cassandra Vole, Malfoy Gang
- Best Echoes – Newt Scamander, Hermione Granger
- Strong against summon decks.
A crowd control deck is one filled with AoE spells and summons, and these decks can overwhelm your opponents, making you the victor. These decks are really powerful in the right hands and usually start with spells that gather your enemy and their summons, like Glacius, Incarcerous, and Orb of Water. Once they are in one spot, you can fire off Incedio, Acromantula’s Venom, and Weasley’s Wildfire Whiz-Bangs.
Use Cassandra Vole to deal insane AoE damage to your enemy and their summons. Malfoy Gang can do the same thing while pressing the attack. I also recommend Protego Diabolica and Fire Crab to defend yourself from incoming summons and Baby Antipodean Opaleye to send an AoE attacker to your opponent.
Depending on if you’re using more spells or summons, Hermione Granger or Newt Scamander can be the best echoes for the best crowd-control decks. If you’re using more summons, Newt is better, but if you’re using more spells, Hermione is better.
Single Companion/Spell/Summon Decks
- Best Spells – Avada Kedavra, Crucio
- Best Summons – Fiendfyre, Norwegian Ridgeback Egg
- Best Companions – Ron Weasley, Ivy Warrington
- Best Echoes – Hermione Granger, Severus Snape, Bellatrix Lestrange
- Strong against many decks, but can be too situational and therefore easily countered.
Lastly, we have the decks that are built around a single companion, spell, or summon. These decks can be constructed around oen or two cards, but you’ll definitely want to showcase one especially powerful card and use that card as often, and effectively, as you can.
There are tons of ways to make a deck like this, but a solid option is to pick a powerful spell like Avada Kedavra or Crucio and pair it with an excellent echo like Hermione Granger or Bellatrix Lestrange. You can do this with summons too, particularly the summons that take a while to build up like Fiendfyre and Norwegian Ridgeback Egg.
Once you have one or two cards that define the deck, build everything else around it. Use surefire companions like Ron Weasley and Ivy Wellington, who are both great in any deck and pick cards that will support your main card.
And those are the best decks in Harry Potter Magic Awakened! If you really wanna learn the best decks on the scene, I recommend joining a club and trading cards with your friends.
