Best COD Black Ops 6 PC settings for performance, visibility, and controls

Faster, smoother, deadlier.

For all their faults and failures, I actually think the Call of Duty games are very well optimized. I can pull pretty steady, seamless FPS from even the newer releases on aging hardware. However, in a competitive game like COD Black Ops 6 on PC, settings that get every last FPS and perfect performance, with spot-on controls, are the difference between winning and losing.

Best settings for performance in COD Black Ops 2

Low FPS not only looks disgusting but will also drastically lower your chances of getting those clips. However, you don’t want Call of Duty Black Ops 6 looking like it’s made out of unmoulded clay by lowering the settings too much either. I found a sweet spot that works for mid and low-range PCs and still provides excellent performance. I don’t imagine anyone running a 40 Series GPU will be reading this.

Graphics settings

Making sure your graphics settings are on point will make the most difference in how COD Black Ops 6 runs. Look in your settings menu and match these up. If a setting, such as Display Monitor, isn’t listed, it is because you should leave it on the default.

A Note on Shaders: Call of Duty loves its shaders. They will have to load more than any other game. However, I often see people complaining about stutter, lag, and screen tears. This is very commonly due to shaders not loading completely. Make sure to check the top left of your screen before you start looking for a match to ensure your shaders have finished.

If they seem stuck, head into settings and open Graphics and Display. Here, click on the Restart Shaders Loading option.

Display

  • Display Mode – Fullscreen Exclusive
  • NVidia Reflex Low Latency – On
  • V-Sync (Gameplay and Menus) – Off unless you know you have a V-Sync-enabled monitor
  • Custom Frame Rate Limit – If you’re not hitting the 300 or your monitor’s maximum FPS, then set it to Custom
    • Set the limits to your monitor or slightly below. This will help prevent your GPU from overworking and overheating.
  • Pause Game Rendering – Off
  • Focus Mode – 0

  • Reder Resolution – Match to your monitor – 100
  • Dynamic Resolution – Off
  • Upscaling/Sharpening – FIDELITYFX CAS – Even when using an NVidia card, this is the better option for visuals in Call of Duty Black Ops 6.
    • Set to 100
  • VRam Scale Target – 90
  • Variable Rate Shading – On
  • Nvidia Frame Generation – Off
  • Texture Resolution – Low/normal
  • Depth of Field – Low
  • Nearby level of Detail – Low
  • Nearby Particle Resolution – Low
  • Bullet Impact – Off
  • Persistent Effects – Off
  • Shader Quality – Low

  • Screen Space Shadows – Off
  • Screen Space Ambient Lighting – Off
  • Screen Space Reflections – Off
  • Static Reflections Quality – Low

  • Motion Blur and Weapon Blur – Off
  • 1st Person Camera Movement – Least

Best Controller settings in Black Ops 6

With the new movement mechanics in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, getting your controls right is more important than ever. I think you may find that whatever you had before doesn’t work quite as well. So, if you’re looking for the best controller settings for aim assist and lighting fast movement in COD BO6, check these out.

Movement

  • Sprint Assist – Tactical Sprint Assist
    • Sprint Assist Delay – 0
    • Sprint Assist Sideways – On
    • Sprint Assist Backwards – On
  • Mantle & Crouch Assist – Off
  • Advances Movement Settings
    • Sprint Restore – On
    • Slide Maintains Sprint – On
    • Plunging Underwater – Free
  • Slide/Dive Behavious – Hybrid

Aiming

  • Aiming Advanced Settings
    • Aim Response Curve Type – Dynamic

Overall, these PC settings should help increase your performance and controller settings in COD Black Ops 6. Of course, every system is different. However, these settings are what I recommend for mid to low-range PCs. These will make the game run as smoothly as possible without looking awful.

The new movements in Black Ops 6 will have you stumped for a while. If you’re very familiar with previous games, you may find these a little clunky at first. However, once you get the hang of them, especially using these Black Ops 6 controller settings, they’re a lot of fun and totally change up the gameplay.

If you are not lucky enough to have BO6, at least make sure your MW3 settings are up to scratch.
