Best Classes in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, ranked

Who's the better dwarf?

Upon unlocking all Classes in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, it’s hard to choose which to play as, so let’s discuss the best one in this ranked list.

While this is all based on how I’ve felt playing all four classes, it’s just my opinion, so you may disagree with my choices. Nevertheless, you may find this ranked list helps you decide who you should choose when diving.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor: Best Classes, ranked

Best Classes In Deep Rock Galactic Survivor Ranked Engineer

4. Engineer

  • Max HP: 130
  • Critical Chance: 5%
  • Critical Damage: 150%
  • XP Gain: +5%

While I love playing the Engineer Class in DRG, this spin-off will offer more hordes than you can handle sometimes, and your turrets just don’t cut it. I find it difficult to defeat large swarms of enemies with the Engineer, especially because the turrets don’t follow you, they’re stuck in place until you move away, to which they’ll respawn.

Their starting max HP isn’t all too high, and their fancy gadgets aren’t my favorite when I need to get rid of swarms. Sure, their damage depends on the upgrades you get, but these weapons just aren’t as good as some of the other classes.

Best Classes In Deep Rock Galactic Survivor Ranked Driller

3. Driller

  • Max HP: 145
  • Critical Chance: 5%
  • Critical Damage: 150%
  • Mining Speed: +20%

The one thing that the Driller excels at is mining. As the Driller, your Mining Speed increases, but one of the Class Mods‘ starting weapons can only shoot from behind. This provides a bit of a rough start for that specific Mod. I also found the flamethrower weapon to sound cool at first, but it was tough to get it to hit where I wanted it, as it slowly circles the player.

This also made the Driller a more difficult class to shave off enemy numbers. If you’re attempting to complete a goal having to do with mining, the Driller is a good pick. But I was left a little disappointed by their arsenal.

2. Gunner

  • Max HP: 160
  • Armor: 10
  • Critical Chance: 5%
  • Critical Damage: 150%

The Gunner has a stellar starting max HP of 160, and their weapons are pretty heavy-duty. Their Lead Storm Powered Minigun will rip through bugs like they’re paper, but the only issue with this incredible gun is having to face the target.

My one gripe with the Gunner was loving this gun, yet hating having to stand still and face the enemy that was chasing me. This became a problem with the Juggernaut who would never give me enough time to stand there and hit it with my best firepower. But the Gunner still has a great set of weapons that focus on high damage.

Best Classes In Deep Rock Galactic Survivor Ranked Scout

1. Scout

  • Max HP: 120
  • Dodge: 5%
  • Critical Chance: 5%
  • Critical Damage: 200%

Although the Scout has the lowest max HP, they make up for it in their mobility and ability to dodge. Their Recon Class Mod can increase the chances of a dodge, and will even give you a speed boost after dodging an enemy.

I love the Scout’s arsenal of long-range weaponry. They’re able to take out large swaths of bugs, and with 200% Critical Damage, the Scout has always been the Class that I’ve been able to last the longest as during a dive. Even though you unlock this Class first, I still consistently use them.

If you’re excited to try out all the DRG:S Classes, but you’ve yet to unlock them all, we can tell you how to unlock all Classes.
