Best Chimera Loadout in DMZ and Warzone 2

The perfect room clearing Assault Rifle.

The Chimera is a fantastic Assault Rifle in Warzone 2 and DMZ. This powerhouse comfortably performs at mid-range and can be built to poke at distant targets or even rival SMGs up close. If you want to build a weapon that can do it all, let me show you the Best Chimera Loadout in DMZ and Warzone 2.

The best Chimera Loadout in DMZ and Warzone 2

Chimera Attachments

  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 45 Round Magazine
  • Optic: SZ Mini
  • Barrel: 5.5″ EXF OP-40

Equipment

  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical: Stun/Flash Grenade

Suggested Perks

  • Overkill
  • Tracker
  • Fast Hands
  • Ghost

For this build, we lean on the Chimera’s superior damage in close to mid-range combat. In turn, we sacrifice some performance in long-range engagements and opt for a more aggressive playstyle to secure kills.

The VLK LZR 7MW Laser offers significant boosts to ADS speed, Aim Stability, and Sprint to Fire speed. Some players hate it because the beam of the Laser is pretty obvious, but this will rarely become an issue if you’re not cowering in a corner.

Any Underbarrel that increases Aiming Idle Stability, Hipfire Accuracy, and Recoil Stabilization will work fine for this weapon. The FTAC Ripper 56 is the best in slot as it gives the biggest stat increase, but even the FTAC Tiger Grip that’s available from the start is a solid choice.

You’ll always benefit from more bullets for DMZ and any mode outside of Solo’s, so the 45-Round Magazine is the way to go. Feel free to experiment with this Attachment, but I always miss the additional shots when I don’t have an extended Magazine.

As the Chimera is decent at mid-range, I feel an Optic is essential. I’ve always been a fan of the SZ Mini as it’s got a wide viewing reticule and doesn’t get in the way. There are plenty of good Optics in Warzone 2, so go with your favorite for this Attachment.

Why these Equipment and Perk choices?

Equipment and Perks are always personal preference. I swear by the Throwing Knife to delete downed enemies, but if you prefer something more conventional, go with an explosive of your choice. I usually use Smoke Grenades as Al Mazrah is full of long sightlines. As I can comfortably push buildings with the Chimera, Stuns/Flashes really shine in those environments.

Are there any flex slots in this build?

You can give the weapon some punch at longer ranges by replacing the Barrel. Swapping the Barrel for the TRX-56 Stock provides Aim Stability and Recoil Control at the cost of useability from the Hip.

The Magazine is always a personal preference, but as I usually play in squads, the 45-Round Magazine is necessary. You can use smaller Magazines for solo play, but you’ll want the Fast Hands perk to cut your reload times.
