Best build for Makoto in Persona 5 Tactica

Melee damage OP.

Building your character in Persona 5 Tactica is a pretty big part of the gameplay loop, with you spending the time between missions upgrading your character with skills and equipping different sub-personas for them to use. Here’s our guide on the best build for Makoto in Persona 5 Tactica.

Persona 5 Tactica: The best build for Makoto

In the original Persona 5 and Royal, Makoto really comes into her own as a member of the party by being an offensive healer. Her Frei skills do some amazing damage, while her healing spells make her one of the best healers in the game. In Persona 5 Tactica, I thought I would build Makoto the same way, but it didn’t turn out so well, as it seems she has a different role in this game, and that’s a melee damage dealer. While she can still be used with pretty decent results doing the offensive healer build I just mentioned, using her as the melee component to my team in Persona 5 Tactica made Makoto one of my favorite units in the game.

The best sub-personas

For Makoto’s build in Persona 5 Tactica, you’re going to want to find a sub-persona that has some high melee damage bonuses. That was all I focused on while picking sub-personas for Makoto, the rest can be second-in-line to making sure she had some decent melee damage output. Of course, I didn’t want her to have basically nothing in the other categories, so the sub-personas that entirely focus on melee and HP were out of the picture for me, but finding one that has about a third of the gun damage as it does melee damage was the balance that struck well for me. As for abilities, you can pick anything, something like an offensive skill might be handy, as something like Agi has a longer range than Makoto’s Frei skills, but passive skills such as Hawkeye are better for her in my opinion.

The best skills to acquire for Makoto

To get Makoto’s best build in Persona 5 Tactica, you’re going to want to focus on the right and middle columns of the skill tree. These tend to focus on things that will be useful to her in the long run. For example, the HP skill will keep her HP up as she runs head-first into fights to punch people in the face. Down that skill line on the right is some majorly useful stuff, too, such as movement and skill range increases. The Charge skills are also handy, as are the follow-up attack skills! But the final necessary one is the Beat Synergy skill line. This increases the level of your party selection buff, so melee damage goes even higher!
