Ark Survival Ascended is known for crazy base designs and crazy heists to break into them. Whether you’re going for style or staying power, here are the best base designs in Ark Survival Ascended.
What are the best base designs in Ark Survival Ascended
After finding the best location to build your base in ASA, there are a few different designs that work well. In this guide, I’m going to highlight some of the coolest bases I’ve seen to give you inspiration for your own base.

Lake House
I found an amazing Lake House build and it’s from CurtisBuilds on YouTube. Check out the video to see it for yourself. Curtis built his Lake House base on Longitude 65.5 and Latitude 47.8 which is right in the middle of where three rivers converge just northeast of Red Peak.
To make the base, he planted Wood Pillars and Beams on the river floor as a foundation. He then used Wood Ceilings as the floor and used Wood Walls and Windows, but he put the outside in for a better look. The rest is pretty self-explanatory with a Wooden Roof and Wooden Rails to make the exterior walkways.
Personally, I’d make a bridge between the house and the land nearby so you don’t put yourself in any Pirhana’s way. Regardless, this base is really nice, especially for PvE servers.
Raft Base
Another great Ark Survival Ascended base design I found is the Raft Base. The cool thing about this Raft Base build which is brought to us by Yodesla on YouTube is it’s extremely well-fortified and almost impossible for other players to break.
To make the Raft Base which you can build up and take anywhere on the water since it is fully mobile, you need to perform a little base-building game break. From the rudder, build Wood or Stone Foundations on all the corners by putting them as far onto the corners as possible and sinking them as much as possible. Create a “U” shape and then pick up the Foundations except for the three on the sail’s side.
Then, couch and place a Foundation directly in the middle of the rudder after moving forward a bit and sinking it. Then place the rest. There should be a little crack in the middle of your raft which you can interact with to drive your raft. This allows you to drive your raft from the top which allows you to craft a house on your raft and keep it well defended.
Tree House
A base that I’ve seen a lot of is a Tree House base which is designed exactly as it sounds. Picture Endor with the Ewok villages. The best place to build a Tree House base is Redwood Forests which is directly southwest of Red Peak.
To build the Tree House base, I highly recommend using the flying cheat to make things much easier. If you don’t want to use that, you need to start with Stairs and build your way up. Once you’re high enough up the trunk of a tree, use Pillars and Beams and angle them into the trunk of the tree. Then build your Ceilings as floors and go from there. You can even chain a few Tree House bases together with bridges if there are surrounding trees.
If you want a step-by-step walkthrough of how to build the Tree House base, check out Aaron Longstaff’s video on YouTube. It is on Ark Survival Evolved, but the build should be very similar on Ascended. It’ll show you everything you need and how to get started.
Titanosaur Base
Lastly, just because I think it’s so cool that this is possible in Ark Survival Ascended, you can build a base on the back of a Titanosaur which is the biggest dino in the game. Doing this is very hard because you first need to tame a Titanosaur which takes a really long time and then you need a lot of resources to build the actual base on the back.
The best Titanosaur base walkthrough I’ve seen is the YouTube video by The Pilgrimz Project. He’ll show you how to build a base on the back of a Titanosaur better than I ever could.
