Be scared! Al-Qaeda using Call of Duty to plot terror attacks

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

That bastion of top-quality journalism, The Sun newspaper, is claiming that Al-Qaeda are using Call of Duty to plot terrorist attacks.
The paper’s front page headline today reads, “Al-Qaeda cell use Call of Duty to plot attacks” – the alternative headline on the online version of the same story reads “Islamic extremists use Call of Duty to plan terror attacks”.
Given The Sun’s reputation for honesty and integrity, I think it’s time we all put the controller down and started taking these threats seriously. I mean, c’mon, The Sun says it’s happening.
Jiminy Jillikets, Batman! There’s more!
It’s not just Call of Duty, Medal of Honor and Halo are also being used to plot attacks by “Islamic extremists.”
Where are The Sun getting their info? Well, here’s what their “source” said:
“It’s a terrifying reality. These people waste no time finding a secure method of chatting.
“They are logging into group games over the internet and discussing terror plots. Security people know about it.
“For millions who love these games this will be a huge shock.
“To think fanatics use them for their own ends is a real worry.”
If you’re wondering why the above senteces all have their own line… that’s how The Sun write their articles in a bid to prevent the idiots that believe the text from becoming confused.
Apparently, “police and spy chiefs” are “responding to the threat”. That’s good. Rest easy.
