Harebrained Schemes’ Kickstarter-funded BattleTech game needs a little more development time, and is now due in early 2018. Originally planned for release at the end of this year, it’s being pushed out a few more months.
“HBS, Paradox, and our Backers all share a deeply personal attachment to this project and we are committed to delivering a game that not only meets the high expectations of our Backers and fans but introduces BattleTech to a new generation of players,” says Harebrained CEO and original BattleTech creator Jordan Weisman.
Though the main game is delayed a bit more, the studio do plan to introduce a PvP multiplayer mode to the ongoing Backer Beta. That’s said to be coming “soon”. Meanwhile, the single player aspects of that same beta will see AI improvements and balance changes this week.
The beta is scheduled to last another month. People can still back BattleTech at the game’s official site, and gain access to the beta.
