Battlefield V Player Count

Battlefield V just surpassed Battlefield 2042’s all-time peak player count – Here’s why

A comeback like no other.

Battlefield has been an iconic franchise in gaming, and while 2042 has had a bit of a resurgence since its abysmal release, Battlefield V has sparked a new all-time high for the franchise on Steam, and there are questions about why exactly.

Battlefield V overtake 2042’s all-time peak player count

While it’s not unusual for players to still dive into older titles such as Battlefield V, as more often than not, these games still hold a loyal player base that refuses to play the new iterations of the franchise.

However, at the time of writing, Battlefield V has hit an all-time peak of players with a staggering 116,104 peak, which has fully surpassed 2042’s peak of 107,376, which was only achieved around a month ago.

There’s some reasoning into why this occurred, as at first glance, it seems a bit odd when heading to steamdb.info and seeing Battlefield V, a game that was released back in 2018, break into the top five of current Steam games. However, EA has made some recent adjustments, along with clever marketing that has contributed to this, alongside the passionate Battlefield community itself.

First, the game recently celebrated its five-year anniversary of being released, which triggered some players to hop back into the action and see how the game has progressed over the last five years. However, the main point of why the game has reached its all-time peak is mainly due to the sale that has been going hand in hand with this anniversary.

The sale has discounted the game to a whopping $4 USD, quite a drop in price and a great bargain if you ask us, especially compared to how expensive games are in this day and age. Also, the game is already on Xbox Game Pass, so it’s quite easy to convince your friends who don’t have Game Pass to spend the $4 and jump into the action with them.

While we aren’t too sure how long this revival is going to last, we’re all here for it, as Battlefield V is perhaps the staple WW2 AAA title we’ve got in the last five or so years, so it’s nice to see it thriving in 2023.
