Battlefield V “female playable characters are here to stay” says DICE GM

The discussion is still ongoing over the direction of Battlefield V and today DICE GM Oskar Gabrielson responded to crtisicism over the decision to add female soldiers.

In an unapologetic Twitter thread, DICE is sticking to their guns adding, “Player choice and female playable characters are here to stay”.  Much of the discussion has been centered around the female character shown in the reveal trailer which I discussed in an article earlier this week after fans were angry saying it was not authentic. As Gabrielson points out in his thread, much of the game and Battlefield series is not authentic as highlighted in the numerous gifs that were posted. The game has to be “fun” first and foremost.

If the idea of female soldiers is just too much to handle then this will be one game to avoid but it’s extremely disappointing that some gamers are using the excuse of “realism” when complaining about female characters. Below you can read Gabrielson responses.
