Battlefield Play4Free Announced

EA has officially announced a new title in the Battlefield series, Battlefield Play4Fee. The game will offer “signature Battlefield vehicular warfare, sandbox gameplay and intense 32-player online battles”. Play4Free includeS the Battlefield Series’ most poPular maps and weapons, 16 vehicless including the Mil Mi-28 attack helicopter,  the F35 VTOL jet fighter, the massive Russian T-90 main battle tank, and the LSV light strike vehicle. Players will also progress through the game to learn new combat skills, and earn in-game currency to spend on new gear.

“We broke new ground in 2009 with the launch of Battlefield Heroes; a game that has 6M registered players worldwide. Now we are complementing that arcade shooter with a core, realistic Battlefield shooter experience that fans have been clamouring for,” said James Salt, Senior Producer, Battlefield Play4Free. “Battlefield Play4Free is for serious shooter fans who are looking for a premium – but free – experience that rivals top console titles.”
Gamers can now can register for the closed beta at www.battlefield.play4free.com.com which launches on Nov 30.
The game is due for release next spring. and hasn’t anyone told EA that shooters are crap on consoles compared to the PC anyway and do we really need a free to play Battlefield?
